Not only did my local ASDA yield two new cases of Matchbox models but it also had pretty much a full case of Batch K Hot Wheels. Ive been searching endlessly for this case and was becoming more frustrated as other collectors have been finding these here for literally a whole month now! There are plenty of carryovers so there was no need to go mad but I was compelled to pick up just the one example of the latest recolour of the Ford Transit Connect. Its weird colour scheme with a dazzling array of different colours and shapes ensures this is a one time only purchase plus those multi coloured wheels reminds me of the My First Matchbox models from the 90's!
But hey, its a licensed modern Eurocentric panel van which looks almost stock and thats good enough for me ;-p

Matchbox have really done well in modelling the Ford Transit Connect van and making it available in many different liveries. Being a modern Matchbox its livery is fictional but not too wacky or garish. Part of a 5 vehicle set. Mint and boxed.

Batch Q, the last Hot Wheels case for 2018 has just begun to appear in U.K. stores and gives anyone who has the taste for retina damaging colours to feast on this latest recolour of the Ford Transit Connect. I am willing to overlook its overly sporty non factory body, after all it is a Hot Wheels and is indeed based on a real vehicle which Hot Wheels helped customise but those multi-coloured wheels and loud graphics are certainly an acquired taste! ;-p
Bought from ASDA who continually delight with new cases of HW but frustrate with its continued mismanagement of its Matchbox exclusivity deal!

The Ford Transit Connect is a compact panel van now in its third generation, and sold by Ford since 2002 Developed by Ford of Europe, the model line replaced sedan-based vans (Ford Escort and Ford Courier vans) with a dedicated commercial vehicle platform. The model line is the second-smallest vehicle of the Ford Transit range, slotted between the Ford Transit Courier LAV and the Ford Transit Custom LCV/MPV.
The second generation Transit Connect was introduced on 6 September 2012 in Amsterdam, adopting many features of the Kinetic Design language. A major design change is an optional rear liftgate in addition to the double doors preferred by commercial buyers and wheelchair users. Production takes place at Valencia, Spain, cargo vans destined for export to the USA avoid the 25% import duty by being built and shipped as passenger vans, which are then converted to cargo configuration before delivery. The vans were available in SWB 122.6 inches or LWB 168.5 inches.
The second generation received a facelift in 2019 receiving updates to the front fascia, with the interior receiving a redesigned dashboard. Retaining the multiple wheelbases and body heights from its 2014 launch, the facelifted model replaces the 2.5L engine with a 2.0L direct-injection I4 (the 2.5-litre engine remains an option for LPG/CNG conversion). For 2020 production, Ford ended production of the short-wheelbase Transit Connect passenger van, solely offering the three-row body style
