Taken this afternoon (Saturday 23rd July) for the Project 365 Group/5th Anniversary of my joining Flickr.
Had Virgin at my gaff this afternoon to sort out one of the cable boxes, so thought it would be appropriate to have this as today's Project 365 pic.
It's carrying the current Birmingham registration mark. The "FVM" ending, although totally random nowadays signifies the old pre-2001 Manchester reg.
Ironically, the "BN" mark was also a Manchester registration prior to 2001, it was first registered in Bolton until 1974.

Maybe panel van castings should be left to Matchbox as these types of vehicle tend to suit realism better. Hot Wheels naturally tend to get the first choice of certain vehicles and thus they get the Ford Transit Connect. A typical Hot Wheels with its flared wheel arches, simple casting and loud colour schemes.

Even with its lack of front tampo detailing the Matchbox 2010 Ford Transit Connect still looks great with its chunky European styling and chrome disc wheels and can be seen in its 2015 HRE Wheels livery. The real van itself has been a big success in both Europe and the States which may explain why Matchbox continue to make it and more often than not they make great licensed diecast vans. Part of a five vehicle set bought in January 2016 from ASDA who had a nice choice of them in that period and sadly appears to be the only time this supermarket chain actually sells Matchbox! Mint and boxed.

Awesome. Taxi companies should dump the Crown Vics and use these! This Transit Connect also happens to run on CNG.

The ex-Avon Ambulance Trust HQ in Marybush Lane, Bristol houses a large number of the vehicles of Great Western Ambulance Trust which spill over onto the adjacent forecourts. This photograph is taken on the Queens Street face of the establishment. These are VW Caddy OU51DXO/S128 with Vauxhall Astra estate WX07MDJ/RV701 (partially obscured) and Ford Transit Connect YK60TVM/S405.

Surely a less pimped up version with more civilian style colours and liveries would look great in the Matchbox line up. This Hot Wheels Transit Connect isn't too bad with a nice chunky stance and decent graphics, I imagine we will see this in the range at very regular intervals. Mint and boxed.

Sir Lamiel on its way back to the Quorn Station of Great Central Railway, Leicestershire.
I'd seen the tender on the same truck the previous day, but failed to capture it. I only just captured this - a large steam train isn't what you expect to be coming round the corner early in the morning! ...but of course the camera is always near to hand.
Southern Railway 777 Sir Lamiel is an N15 “King Arthur” class 4-6-0 steam locomotive built for the Southern Railway by the North British Locomotive Company in June 1925, and withdrawn from service in October 1961.
Sir Lamiel is now preserved and is part of the National Collection, under the care of the 5305 Locomotive Association, and is based at the Great Central Railway in Leicestershire.
