Merseyside's finest answering a call in Williamson Square, Liverpool City Centre. I really do wish they would put these into battenburg livery!
This Ford Model A was the second huge success for the particular Ford Motor Company, right after its predecessor, the Style T. First produced with October 20, 1927, but not sold until December a couple of, it replaced the venerable Style T, which had been produced for 18 years. This new Model A...

2010 Ford Transit Connect 1.8 TDCi 90 T200
Dodging the squally rain showers on an early evening trip to my local supermarket I found one of Merseyside's Scientific Support vans parked up in the car park.
This is a bit of an odd one with a Brighton registration (GX). Merseyside Police vehicles are usually registered in either Preston or Chester. (see below).
The Maisto Ford Transit Connect gets an EV themed recolour to keep the casting looking fresh and relevant. As long as your expectations are low then theres much to admire with this budget casting, mainly its vehicle choice and its licensed status which enables it to have fine front and rear detailing.

This is literally blind photography. Unfortunately, the LCD screen on my camera has died a death, so I had no way of knowing what was actually in shot, in focus or how the picture would turn out.
When this parked up in West Derby, Liverpool, I just pointed the camera and hoped for the best. Not too bad, considering!

Looking a bit like a robot vacuum cleaner, this is actually a surface friction measuring device.
Friction testing can use surface friction testers or portable friction testers, and involves allowing a freely moving object, usually a wheel, to move against the surface. By measuring the resistance experienced by the wheel, the friction between the ground and the wheel can be found.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Road_slipperiness
"GripTester is the world’s leading trailer based continuous surface friction measuring device."
"For roads and pavements, the GripTester offers an un-paralleled opportunity to measure continuous skid resistance for all classifications of roads giving you the comfort that your roads comply with a policy set to acceptable standards. We also offer a testing service whereby we undertake your survey requirements and can deliver data in a number of formats including files compatible with your Pavement Management System (PMS)."
"Authorities should endeavour to ensure that appropriate skid resistance is provided across the whole network, both for safety reasons in respect of skidding and to provide a defence in case of litigation” (Code of Practice for Maintenance Management, published by The Institution of Highways and Transportation)"

Ford Mustang
The actual iconic Mustang—with its vintage pony-car looks and hunkered-down stance—preserves some sort of legacy that defines U . s . motoring. A 300-hp 3. 7-liter V-6, some sort of 310-hp 2. 3-liter turbo four-cylinder, plus a 435-hp 5. 0-liter V-8 are extremely offered with a six...

2023 Case C recolour of the Hot Wheels Ford Transit Connect, a casting created for a real life Hot Wheels commissioned van some years back. It explains why this casting has never looked totally stock with its massively flared arches and rear spoiler.
For an Art Cars sub series i'd say the artwork looks rather tasteful if not particularly discreet!
Found recently at Tesco.

New to First London CentreWest VN37897. Transferred to Metroline where it became VW1849. Then briefly to Julia London City Tours.
Now with updated packaging and a newly reinvigorated line up the Maisto Fresh metal range is once again rather appealing for the budget end of the diecast market. A range which although suffers from cost cutting such as lack of interiors does feature heavily licensed castings and "generics" which are clearly based on real vehicles.
Their Ford Transit Connect is well cast and features full front and rear detailing which does give it the edge over similar priced Matchbox. Found recently at a Geant Casino. Mint and boxed.

Out doing some last minute-last minute Christmas shopping I found one of Merseyside's CCTV vans parked up at the bottom of Bold Street in Liverpool City Centre just ouside the former Lyceum Post Office.
I really do wish they would put these into battenburg livery as they did with the yellow Sprinters!
This is the one Maisto model i've been hoping and praying would eventually find its way over here into our ASDA stores but alas it hasn't happened yet and perhaps never will! Proving that they still regularly update their gigantic 1/64 basic range this Ford Transit Connect is a great addition especially as the real vehicle is a very popular sight in may countries around the globe even surprisingly in the U.S. Predictably there is no interior and overall it does feel like the basic low end diecast it was designed to be but it looks realistic enough and being a licensed casting it has enough painted detailing to justify it. Part of a nine vehicle Adventure Force branded set bought recently from Wal-Mart who obviously need to pass on the sheer choice of Maisto models available there to its ASDA subsidiary who are quite poor at offering anything other than a handful of different models at any one time! Mint and boxed.

Spotted in downtown Ann Arbor as I was walking to lunch on April 2, 2018. I don't know what the van is, but the complementary backdrop caught my eye.

This casting has been in the Matchbox range for a good few years now and thankfully made a reappearance in 2015 for one of the five vehicle sets. Thankfully it retains its metal bodywork and those fantastic chrome disc wheels which gives it a realistic and typical Matchbox look. The Turkish built Transit Connect has been a big success in both Europe and the U.S. which is probably why it was modelled by Matchbox and captures the boxy utilitarian shape very well though of course some tampo detailing to the headlamps wouldn't go amiss. As already mentioned this HRE Wheels version came in a five vehicle set which appeared on the pegs of ASDA in the run up to Christmas. Mint and boxed.
Ford C-Max
The C-Max is dependant on the frisky Focus, so that it is an economical, fun-to-drive replacement for the typical hybrid doze fest. Its steering can be firm and communicative; a four-cylinder and a couple electric motors provide respectable motivation. The Energi, the particular...
