Although a lot of people including myself would have liked to have seen this in something more civilian, I can't deny the chunky looks of the new Hot Wheels Ford Transit Connect are growing on me. I saw it a few times on the Lamley Group website and it didn't really appeal to me but I have to say its much better in the flesh. Van models at this end of the market always seem to be in short supply so hopefully Hot Wheels will maximise this casting in the near future. Mint and boxed.

I think the Superlambanana in a high-vis jacket overhead is a nice touch!
I'm almost certain this casting never made it to our shores or certainly not through our main retailers. It was a pretty new casting around the time the big switch over to HTI generics but finally that wrong has been righted! :-)
Brand new basic 1/64 Maisto castings are a pretty rare event these days so I was pretty disappointed that the only place I could find my first Ford Transit Connect one was a trip to the
States. I certainly never expected to ever see this casting in a UK themed Police livery but here we have it thanks to TK Maxx who are currently selling various sized multi-sets, all containing similar type colour schemes.
For a basic cheapo Maisto this Transit Connect is impressively well cast and detailed which despite its lack of interior can still hold its head up against rivals such as Matchbox. Sensibly they have added a small discreet roof lightbar and even authentic rear orange chevrons as per the real vehicle. Mint and boxed.

The taxidriver who took us from Manhattan to JFK made a little detour to avoid the conjested Queens Midtown Expressway (Long Island Expressway, Hwy 495). Driving on parallel streets along the Queens Midtown Expressway here in Queens.
Quality of this photo is poor but I so love the atmosphere captured from the backseat of a Ford Transit Connect taxi cab.
Despite its budget status there are still lots of castings in the Maisto Fresh Metal line up I rather like, especially when they model vehicles rarely seen in this scale and price point.
For me personally this is the first time i've seen their Ford Transit Connect in a totally plain livery, looking very clean and crisp in this all white colour. Found recently at a Spanish AlCampo hypermarket where they are sold under their One Two Fun brand. Mint and boxed.
