I’m going to change how I charge clients to photograph weddings. After a somewhat recent visit to the hospital for what was a routine procedure, I became re-acquainted with how hospitals bill their patients, and think I would like to apply their pricing/billing model for my wedding photography business.

Wedding photography: $100

Now there are some other line-item costs, not included:

$1,100 - Equipment usage fee

$150 – personal liability and damage waiver

$120 - Out-of-county unfamiliarity assessment fee

$268 – personal vehicle usage, wear & tear

$177 – “bride not done in time” schedule impact fee

$81 - Non premium parking spot fee

$108 – Telling your Aunt Betty to stop taking photos next to me while doing formal portraits fee

$450 - Penalty for your Aunt Betty telling me I should pose people differently in the formal shots

$74 – “change of itinerary” confusion penalty

$25 – reimbursement from sub-par wedding food

$82 - ARIP expense for PSOC (random acronyms for non-nonsensical costs with no explanation)

$510 - Videographer confrontation fee

$47 – squinting in sunlight sur-charge (don’t get married facing the sun)

$112 – Photoshop request fee on double-chin and fly-away hair photos.

$150 – non-discretionary funds (may be used for candy bars, souvenirs, tipping the bartender)

$210 - daily per diem rate, based on GSA location

$340 – Potential skin damage surcharge

$305 - Telling wedding guest with pro DSLR not to post photos of this wedding on his FB fan page as a wedding they were hired for

$685 – “answering questions from wedding guests about the equipment I use” penalty/fee

$440 – wear & tear on footware, dress shirt and extra hair products

$105 - taking photo with guest's point-and-shoot camera for that guest

$205 – Playing “Celebration” by Kool and the Gang (annoying wedding song) penalty.

$75 – Not having an "open bar" fee

$200 – grievance pay for my wife, since I will be at your party, and she will be home sad.

$215 – Chiropractor fee for realignment of back after carrying camera equipment

$100 – blank DVDs, padded envelopes, postage/shipping/handling for mailing your wedding DVD

$18 – use of personal electricity for processing wedding photos

$945 - 20% gratuity on wedding parties of 12 or more people

$200 - Co-pay

$727 sales tax

Total: $13,646.47 (not added up correctly, just like medical bills)

By the way, I will bill you twice for everything, just to see if you catch it.

Am I missing any fees?

What an odd sight to see as you are driving along a quiet rural road and you see this along the side of the road. Where are the feet that belong to these shoes and boots? A warning to weary travelers not to go into the woods?

NXWM 4320 descending the top of Vicar Street from the highest point of Dudley town centre. This area has long been referred to as Top Church, although the church itself (to the left, off picture) is the Church of Saint Thomas and Saint Luke. The nearby town of Walsall also has an area known as Top Church, where the High Street climbs to meet Upper Rushall Street in front of Saint Matthew's Church; the area once well known for the street market that stretched most of the way up High Street.

These days, Dudley as a shopping centre is a shadow of its former self, in part a victim of the success of the undercover Merry Hill shopping complex built on the former Round oak Steel Works in the 1980s. As a consequence, some major retailers moved out of the town to Merry Hill, and since then there has been much decline. In this picture from 2018, the Blunts Shoe outlet is closing its doors. This large building was formerly the United Footware and before that, the Co-op.

As for the Alexander bodied Dennis Trident bus, that had been new to Wolverhampton bus garage in May 2002. From March 2012 to May 2015 it served in Birmingham, before returning to Wolverhampton. Captured here in its last days of operation, the bus being withdrawn in August 2018. After a long period of storage it was sold to Shelton Motors (dealer), Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire for breaking in September 2021.

Leather is a durable and flexible material created by tanning animal rawhide and skin, often cattle hide. It can be produced at manufacturing scales ranging from cottage industry to heavy industry.

People use leather to make various goods—including clothing (e.g., shoes, hats, jackets, skirts, trousers, and belts), bookbinding, leather wallpaper, and as a furniture covering. It is produced in a wide variety of types and styles, decorated by a wide range of techniques.

Saw this young woman in line at the store. Had to take some pics.

A lot of walking done today !

Back in the days when the Co-op was an almost vertical producer and seller - an advert for the Co-op's own footware, Wheatsheaf brand and that were made in the Wheatsheaf Works in Leicester. The factory opened in 1891 and was, I'm told, the largest footwear factory in the world. The building actually survives, despite the Co-op having been out of show manufacturing for many a long year, and is currently being redeveloped as it is a Listed (protected) building. The advert also pushes the use of another CWS product - Pelaw Polish, this made at the CWS's Tyneside factory that produced polishes and brushes.

"Sneakers" is the more common term used in the Northeastern United States and southern Florida.[1] The term is also used in North Carolina. The British English equivalent of "sneaker" in its modern form is "trainer". In some urban areas in the United States, the slang for sneakers is kicks. Other terms include training shoes or trainers (British English), sandshoes, gym boots or joggers (Geordie English in the UK.

In june I was asked to contribute to the next Eight magazine. Eight magazine is a free magazine published throughout the Netherlands and in Copenhagen by HUB footwear to promote new artists. The magazine is in international A3 size and all the illustrations are ready to be cut out and framed to be put on your wall. Really nice idea for a free magazine I think. The theme in this issue was "the city where you live", and the city name had to be incorporated into the illustration.
