The leather shoes and beads decorations the Issas (somalis) women still wear in east Ethiopia. Nobody stops to meet them , so the contact was really interesting. They suffer from the lack of water (when you see the arid area where they live, you still try to understand where they can find some). They cannot move as the tribes around do not let them come on their territories...

For want of inspiration, I saw my slippers hanging out to dry, and thought they would do!

I decided to wash them, ready to put away until they are needed again - Possibly in October.

I just can't have cold feet during the winter, so always wear "fleece lined" slippers around the house! lol

Had my wife pose for me with her gorgeous feet in thong sandals. This was followed by me sucking and tickling her sexy feet.

Waterfall near the Storr, Isle of Skye.

It was typical Skye weather - all four seasons in a single day. We had sun, rain, sleet, hail and lots of wind - in other words: perfect photographic weather with ever-changing light. The only problem here was a car load of tourists who wanted to take snaps of each other in various poses right in my field of view. However, they buggered off pretty sharpish when the ladies in the party realised that high heeled shoes were not necessarily the best choice of footware for waterlogged, sloppy peat. Words fail me sometimes .....

Matt Stuart's advice for street photography:

"Buy a good pair of comfortable shoes. Have a camera around your neck at all times, keep your elbows in, be patient, optimistic and don't forget to smile."

Thursday, 19 January 2012. Pulling some maintenance on my footware. I cleaned them with saddle soap, and weatherproofed with mink oil a few days ago. Today was time for a little polish and elbow grease. Today was a good day to stay inside. Very cold, with a light snow falling most of the day.

William my Dollmore full sized Dollfie resin boy. He is a limited edition Larme doll, and I couldn't afford to get him in the posh suit they posed him in so I got him this lovely Japanese style instead (still cost me a mint LOL). At the moment he has loads of wigs, about 3 pairs of footware but only one outfit, sad isn't it?

Benefit footwear shop at No. 47 Yorkshire Street, Greater Manchester, dated August 1953 ( SD8911365B1 ) more detail on this van from smallcarsclub.com

When it first appeared in 1938, the French built New•Map Microcar made by the well-known motorcycle manufacturer. During the mid 1950s, New•Map produced a range of scooters as well as the three-wheeled Solyto utility truck. These vehicles were built at the sheet-metal division of New•Map and were called the Societe Lyonnaise de Tolerie – hence the odd name. By the early 1970s, the Solyto TC_7 was being offered in three body styles. And exported to many countries, The van was quite small, 4½ feet tall, 4¼ feet wide, 8 feet long and weighing approximately 330 pounds. Despite the archaic design its production continued from 1952 until 1974

Our two cats like to cuddle up with my sandals, when they're off my feet. It's a cat thing, apparently.

I observed our curious one of the two feline companions in our home, Smokey, as she circled round the footware, pawing away at them and settling into a comfortable spot, sprawled across them on the floor. It was a perfect setting for a portrait.

I grabbed my camera, lay down on the floor, and contented myself with a long wait until the right combination of elements would eventually arrive in front of my lens. In the meanwhile, I had to put up with our two furry friends, licking my hair, my arm, rubbing up against me, and all manner of greetings and signs of affection while they got used to my new and unfamiliar position on the floor.

Eventually, they settled down and went back to my sandals, finding them more fun than me.

First Sissy, then Smokey, both took turns with my footwear. This image was towards the end of my patience. I'm glad I took the time.

The contrast and light is perfect for a portrait. It was worth both the kitty attention, and the wait.

I’m going to change how I charge clients to photograph weddings. After a somewhat recent visit to the hospital for what was a routine procedure, I became re-acquainted with how hospitals bill their patients, and think I would like to apply their pricing/billing model for my wedding photography business.

Wedding photography: $100

Now there are some other line-item costs, not included:

$1,100 - Equipment usage fee

$150 – personal liability and damage waiver

$120 - Out-of-county unfamiliarity assessment fee

$268 – personal vehicle usage, wear & tear

$177 – “bride not done in time” schedule impact fee

$81 - Non premium parking spot fee

$108 – Telling your Aunt Betty to stop taking photos next to me while doing formal portraits fee

$450 - Penalty for your Aunt Betty telling me I should pose people differently in the formal shots

$74 – “change of itinerary” confusion penalty

$25 – reimbursement from sub-par wedding food

$82 - ARIP expense for PSOC (random acronyms for non-nonsensical costs with no explanation)

$510 - Videographer confrontation fee

$47 – squinting in sunlight sur-charge (don’t get married facing the sun)

$112 – Photoshop request fee on double-chin and fly-away hair photos.

$150 – non-discretionary funds (may be used for candy bars, souvenirs, tipping the bartender)

$210 - daily per diem rate, based on GSA location

$340 – Potential skin damage surcharge

$205 – Playing “Celebration” by Kool and the Gang (annoying wedding song) penalty.

$75 – Not having an "open bar" fee

$200 – grievance pay for my wife, since I will be at your party, and she will be home sad.

$215 – Chiropractor fee for realignment of back after carrying camera equipment

$100 – blank DVDs, padded envelopes, postage/shipping/handling for mailing your wedding DVD

$18 – use of personal electricity for processing wedding photos

$945 - 20% gratuity on wedding parties of 12 or more people

$200 - Co-pay

$727 sales tax

Total: $13,646.47 (not added up correctly, just like medical bills)

By the way, I will bill you twice for everything, just to see if you catch it.

Am I missing any fees?

What an odd sight to see as you are driving along a quiet rural road and you see this along the side of the road. Where are the feet that belong to these shoes and boots? A warning to weary travelers not to go into the woods?

My wife sharing her gorgeous feet in my favorite thong sandals. We were enjoying a beautiful fall day on a small lake.
