It was not so much the actual painting that warranted this picture being included in the online album, but that when Henry (age 4) was asked what this is a painting of, he responded, "It's a pyroclastic flow."

Vorige week de allernieuwste Flow gekocht. Nietsvermoedend blader ik een beetje gedachtenloos door het blad en laat mijn blik vallen waar hij valt. Mijn oog wordt getrokken naar een plek op een pagina die bestaat uit allerlei mini scheurkalenderblaadjes. En daar staat het. Mijn naam. En daarboven de uitspraak van mijn oma die ik steevast als antwoord kreeg als ik klaagde over de regen.
Enkele weken geleden heb ik spontaan gereageerd op een oproep van Flow en deze uitspraak aan de redactie getwitterd. Dus, ik ben nu officieel een soort van... gepubliceerd. Of is het nu mijn oma die gepubliceerd is? Moet ineens denken aan nog zo'n gevleugelde nuchtere Noord-Hollandse wijsheid van haar als iemand het ietwat-te-hoog-in-de-bol kreeg: " Doe maar gewoon, dan doe je al gek genoeg".
Het maakt mij blij dat een van haar grappige en tegelijkertijd relativerende uitspraken een mooi plekje heeft gekregen. Vanmiddag neem ik een ouderwets advocaatje met slagroom en hef het glas op mijn oma Grietje.
