Sunken WW1 German Naval Ships and Block Ships, now the haunt of divers. It was thought that these wrecks would seal off the anchorage but a U-Boat managed to get through in 1939 and torpedoed the British navy which was anchored there. HMS Royal Oak was sunk and is now a designated War Grave so diving is prohibited on the wreck.
Royal Caribbean's "Anthem of the Seas" also has "Flow Rider" for those who are interested in taking things up a notch. Our son, Scott, gave it a go and did amazingly well at it. We, as spectators, were impressed with how well he did. No one seemed to find a graceful way of getting off the thing.
Pahoehoe flow shows where molten lave oozed out onto surface, flowed from backgroud left to foreground right and solidified, then was pushed up as the lava sheet buckled and deflated on cooling.
The sea never fails to fascinate me. For something so seemingly defined and eternal, there is something so charming in its dynamic ability to reshape the character of even the most mundane scenes.
Even in one of its most weakened states..., the gentle splashing against rocks on a beach for instance, it continues to possess an ephemeral beauty that captivates me. It does take some form of imagination to see, and perhaps a 10-second shutter, but it's there. Sometimes all it takes is patience and an open eye.
Of course, it will be different for everyone. Hell, it will never even be exactlyt the same for the same person every time. But that's the beauty of it. Therein, I guess, lies my fascination.
It's just so f'n cool.

The next amazing laser installation by Jo Fairfax and Graham Callister. The installation is based in the grounds of Boughton House, Geddington, and is due to go live at the end of January.
