My wife and I live on the southern tip of the 49'er highway. That is where gold was discovered in California in 1849. Hence, the 49'er highway! We found this car in the backyard of an old house in a little gold mining town along that highway. It kinda struck me as, "once again finding gold"!! I painted my photo with Painter X ... Please view large on Black.

This is a great idea of these guys.
I received the moustache few hours ago, from the Stellar girl, it was so funny cause somehow i knew the mail would arrive today.
It's now my turn to pass it on,
and decided to take the Anya´s recommendation and send it to Jeremy from USA.
PS: about the pics... i dont know what happened today was the emotion of the moment.LOL but my theory is that moustache is bewitched.. prolly for the lovely Jeanique eheh
L-R Foxxy, Baldr, and Chauncey take a break after hiking around Lake Parker while we looked for alligators. Lisa and F&B came to visit today on their "Meeting Flickr Friends" trip. We have talked a lot, played with the Poodles, and then visited Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Refuge where Lisa got to see a Manatee for the first time, up close & personal. We have had a fun day.

The RCMP was the first to lead the crowds. They all look so cool with their motorcycles. They stopped time to time to make sure everyone can get pictures of them.
Behind the motorcycles, another group of people continuously lights up the firecracker. Lighting up the firecracker in new year is to scare the evil spirit away. Chinatown all the sudden becomes so lively... :)

13 month ago I started posting photos on Flickr. It has been a good journey. I find much inspiration in the work of fellow Flickr photographers. I see Flickr as a sharing platform where we can learn from each other. I love to share my secret sauce on HDR processing in the hope that it is helpful to you guys and gals.

With the new platform Beta Team Flickr intend to make further changes that will limit severely the exchanges between users:
1 - There will be no white space below the photo for description, comments or invitations to groups
2 - Difficult to write a comment that contains more than 3 words
3 - We can not see who supports our pics
4 - We can not see in which groups the photo appears
5 - The images of the award will not be visible
6 - The visits will no longer be visible. The latter will only appear in Recent Activity, others will be lost.
7 - For Admin it will become impossible to manage groups so many will close.
8 - Our descriptions, including quotes, links to YouTube or other sites will be hidden

"Yahoo has new ideas. flickr is offering 1 TB free space for all accounts. Those who want to be rid of advertisements have to pay.
I appeal you all those who plan to quit, to change your mind and stay. You can make use of your accounts just for storage. Make your accounts private, make this image public and use flickr for storage. You can save on external hard disks.
If we check in to a hotel room seeing it's features, should we bear it without a word of protest if they take away the furniture one by one including the bed ? flickr should know that the people who protest are not against 'changes'.
Changes shouldn't steal away the utilities that made people choose flickr.
Protest ! flickr is not just the property of few people who get paid to serve the people that make it. If they offer 1 TB free space for every account, the salaried people who planned it have advertisements in mind. Many unique special utilities made people like you and me join flickr, and flickr is taking away all what that made us choose it. Now the only special thing in flickr is 1 TB free storage. Let's then make use of it, without caring about flickr's revenue. We can seek better places for what we like, still keep this place for storage. No longer any white space underneath pictures for comments, description, invitations etc....
Everything is gathered in a tiny sidebar to the right of the photo in the Lightbox
All features that allow interaction and sharing have gone so groups might also disappear ......

Unfortunately everything we can do seems absolutely useless ....
Yahoo and Flickr don't care
Unfortunately it is obvious that Yahoo wants to turn Flickr into another social network for people (mainly teens and young ) using only tablets and smartphones and whose only interaction is Hi or Lol
Motivated photographers still using computers (with photo-softwares) and large screens are no longer desirable customers....
( nor groups since our invitations are only visible on our "Recent Activity "Page....The oldest are lost ....and everything is done to impede their functioning)
Advertising is much much more lucrative than our Pro accounts .......
