This thing must be photographed by every tourist who wanders the South Bank to see Big Ben. It is of course the London Eye - basically a massive technologically jazzed up ferris wheel. This shot looks up from below. After all the colour in my previous post, I've removed it from this one - to keep things mixed up and keep you guessing.
Funny thing is that Cloudia from the London Elephant Parade, 2010, had a ride on the Eye.

Con la nuova piattaforma Beta il Team di Flickr ha intenzione di apportare delle ulteriori modifiche che limiteranno pesantemente gli interscambi tra users:
1 - Non ci sarà più uno spazio bianco sotto le foto per le descizioni, commenti o inviti ai gruppi
2 - Difficile scrivere un commento che contenga più di 3 parole
3 - Non possiamo vedere chi favorisce le nostre foto
4 - Non possiamo vedere in quali gruppi appare la foto
5 - Le immagini degli award non saranno visibili
6 - Gli inviti non saranno più visibili. Gli ultimi appariranno solo in Attività Recente, gli altri andranno perduti.
7 - Per gli Admin diventerà impossibile gestire i gruppi per cui molti chiuderanno.
8 - Le nostre descrizioni, incluse citazioni, link a YouTube o altri siti saranno nascoste
IMPOSSIBILE QUALUNQUE INTERSCAMBIO, NESSUNA VISIBILITA' !!!

or the digital camera on the macbook or in the cell phone.
brings the tally to something around 56 cameras.
most cameras seen here were thrifted. the majority cost $1 or less.
in cases. and the ones i use are on a shelf.
i don't want to pay for film any more. i don't want to buy $7 batteries to use in cameras that cost $1 a shot.
i know i can get film for all of the cameras [except the polaroid roll film, that's the only one dead. the sx-70 pack can be modified, etc]
if i happen to find polaroid 600 film for a quarter a pack, then hell ya.
in the mean time, i'm goin digital and stockpiling film cameras for fun.
Three Million.... wow! I recall when I had 300,000 views on Flickr and thought that was quite impressive. I am so honored to have such wonderful Flickr contacts. I, in turn, love to see the images you post of this incredibly beautiful world. Thanks to all!

I think this accurately represents how I feel right now. Me, the green button...Flickr and all the amazing artists here...the jar of buttons. I have been so busy the last few months that I haven't taken or wanted to take the time to feed my creativity The result: I miss Flickr, I'm uninspired, I miss Flickr, and I especially miss all of my Flickr friends. I read an article recently, "How to Steal Like An Artist (and 9 Other Things Nobody Told Me) that reminded me to get inspired, to stop being so critical of myself and my work, to remember to enjoy myself, and to just keep doing what I love. So, little by little...I'll catch up...with my photos, your streams, and my dream.

Flickr Friday theme Patch. This is a jacket I bought at the race in 1984. Back then a photographers pit pass was a small pin. I saw one photographer that had a dozen pinned to his camera strap. I had two over the years. Couldn't find them for this picture. I had shot pictures for the Indianapolis Star and News when it was still called the Indianapolis Morning Star. the old photographer ,;-)
I wanted to make a flickr group banner, so it seems the only way to do that is to spam my stream, sorry folks! Move along, nothing much to see here :)
#6 in my series FREEDOM GREEN for the Iranian flickr community and the people of Iran. A friend in Iran asked me to dedicate this photo as follows:
“I hope this will be a green movement in every aspect of life, not just political. Please dedicate this to all the young and old, men and women of Iran who fight for freedom by bravely standing in the streets in opposition to the shameless, horrible guards and hardliners. What people in Iran really want is peace, freedom, truth, wisdom and a better future.”
My friend also provided the following poem by the 12th century Iranian poet, Saadi:
The Children of Adam are limbs of each other
Having been created of one essence.
When the calamity of time afflicts one limb
The other limbs cannot remain at rest.
If thou hast no sympathy for the troubles of others
Thou art unworthy to be called by the name of a man.
Photograph: In Iran, the garden is a sanctuary - a place for relaxation, contemplation, and enjoyment of nature and all things green. In desert towns, water for maintaining the garden and for use in the home, was supplied by an ingenious system of underground water tunnels (qanats) that transported water from the higher mountains to the dessert floor. Smaller viaducts would run off from such tunnels and supply individual homes and their gardens with water. The stream of water is often a decorative focus in the garden. This photograph, taken in a lovely hotel in Yazd Iran, depicts many elements of the Persian garden - water, fountains, trees and roses. The english word paradise derives from the Persian word for garden.

Uma das obras mais conhecidas de seu acervo é o quadro de 1888 do artista Pedro Américo, "Independência ou Morte".
