I think this first experiment really shows and proves the capailities of Pixel Flash triggers. D80 on M with 1/200 speed f/4.0 Aperture both flashes on TTL BL mode, no further adjustments! No more Questions your Honour :-)
This is a shot that you can not do with AWL/CLS. And its much easyier then Strobe-ing on Manual.

Macro Monday - theme: DIY
I made brackets like these for each of my flash units. When a flash is on an umbrella adapter with an umbrella, with this bracket it's flat and very close to the stem of the umbrella, aimed along the center axis (instead of 5"-8" offset in typical position on an umbrella adapter). Also, the weight of the flash unit counter-balances the umbrella better.

I used the flash and a 15 second exposure with the aperture set to f/8. Would look better if the robot wasn't in the center.

"Friends uke nited" flash mob in Gloucester city centre this afternoon. They were introduced by Gloucester's Town Crier (and world's loudest town crier!) Alan Myatt and started off by playing 'Jingle Bells', getting everyone in the Christmas spirit.

My friend Katrina, posing again for another month of the calendar. We took photos at an old abandoned factory/warehouse in Abilene, Tx referred to as "hobo jungle" because it's where the hobos like to hang. The colors on the walls were so great for taking photos.

Test roll at 6x6 with a wide angle homemade pinhole camera, f90 18mm.
A few flash pinhole shots to finish the roll.
It's hard to synchronize with someone elses flash when your own camera has a one second lag from the button being pressed and the picture is captured. You have to do it by mistake. Like I did here. As you can see my camera did not understand how to interprete all that light and messed it up.
This is the result of a 2sec. exposure after the flash was fired. Only contrast and saturation correction. Everything else has been unaltered.
Really like the abstract result.

No, flash worked perfectly on this Santa portrait.
But I'm having the devil's own hard time trying to get my studio flash system up and running.
Boring tech stuff to follow: System is three Strobelite Plus flash heads, two Softboxes, one background flash unit. All head units are working normally. I can't seem to get the communication to work between the flash heads and two remote triggers (PocketWizard Plus II). Can't get the camera to wirelessly trigger the flash heads. Wired, they work fine. The remote triggers are working normally...but somewhere in between, the communication breaks down.
I believe it is one of two problems. It is possible that the cable between PocketWizard receiver unit and first flash head is incompatible in some way...though I don't know how that could be. Or, it is possible that the 3.3v that the remote trigger sends out is not appropriate for the flash head input...though I was told that these two systems work together.
Until I hear from one of the manufacturers, I'll remain both puzzled and stymied.
Flash Flooding occurred in Piedmont, South Dakota from a slow-moving supercell thunderstorm on June 1, 2015.
Using Pentax AF280T flash and Tele Lentar 135mm f2.8 preset lens. It's a perfect lens! The price is very cheap but the quality is superb.
