The return of some Christmas (window) critters. I first saw these fish in "Carnival of the Animals: Testing the Waters" in 2011.
Ani nets tropical fish that have been released into the Kelly Warm Springs in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. We found guppies. swordtails; tetras; zebras; and other tropical fish all living in the 85 degree water of the spring. Kelly Warm Springs lies along a fault line on the east side of Jackson Hole. The water enters the aquifer higher up in the Gros Ventre Mountains and ends up flowing down the strata until it get deep below the Jackson Hole valley floor. It then rises to the surface along the faults and forms the Kelly Warm Spring. It is believed that locals relesed their pet fish into the spring giving rise to the current tropical fish population.
