For "Looking close... on Friday!" . Theme : "Reflection on Black".

We were lucky enough to watch this heron for several minutes as it struggled to dispatch it's rather large prey.

Any help with the fish identification will gratefully be received. I suspect now that it's a short spined sea scorpion.

Fishes at Borough Market, London, UK

X-ray of flowerhorn fish, a misshapen head, skeleton and the black swim bladder are visible in this image. The stomach, liver, intestines and other organs are located in the space below the swim bladder. This fish is an ornamental cichlid that has been overbred in order to produce the huge head and the very bright (unnatural) colors. Much like pugs and bulldogs, the facial bones are abnormally shortened which can cause feeding and developmental problems.

Angelfish

Large, lovely and graceful, angelfish appear in various colour patterns. Because of their size when full-grown, angelfish require at least a 55-gallon tank. Angelfish do well with other fish species (although they may eat very small fish) but can fight with each other. Provide plenty of plants in the aquarium, as angelfish like to hide beneath them.

Thanks for viewing and have a great day!

I was exploring the beach at the Bay of Fundy, when I came across this Fish. It really has "Bitten off more than it can chew." It must have choked and drowned.

I'm not sure what the Fish is called - does anyone else have any ideas what type of Fish it is?

The Fish Eagle is the epitome of African pride and grandeur for many people, with its piercing call carrying across the wilderness. The call is also the symbolic call in Africa for many. Both male and female birds call, with the male having a higher pitch than the female.

Fish Eagles feed on fish they catch by swooping down to the water surface from their perches in high trees. If they miss the catch they will return to the trees to seek out more fish on the surface. When catching a fish they will return to a perch and feed but should the fish be too heavy to pull out the water they will pull it to shore using their powerful wings to generate power.
