First Light - The first sunlight over Yosemite national Park looking donw Yosemite Vallye from Tunnel View - Copyright 2015 Martyn Phillips, M4Photo.
Tunnel View over Yosemite National Park is a favorite with tourists and photographers and for that reason we arrived very early to make the most of this amazing location. The night was clear and very cold but we were presented with a lovely sun flare as the sun crept up over the mountains surrounding the valley.

The season's first snow settles to the surface of the highest peaks surrounding Yudanaka as evening light brings color to the storm clouds, Nagano Prefecture, Japan.
The small series of towns near Jigokudani Monkey Park are nestled in a spectacular valley that is rich with apple orchards, small gardens, persimmon trees, and other agricultural enterprises. There is also a very high density of utility poles and other visual detritus that makes the skyline and the way it intersects with the surrounding landscape somewhat less than picturesque. To make this image more presentable, I spent a bit of time cloning out some of the more distracting elements.
Out on a sunny walk yesterday. The temperatures were below freezing, but no snow. The wind made it feel colder than it actually was.
L'hymne à l'amour - Edith Piaf
Le ciel bleu sur nous peut s'effondrer
Et la terre peut bien s'écrouler
Peu m'importe si tu m'aimes
Je me fous du monde entier
Tant qu'l'amour inond'ra mes matins
Tant que mon corps frémira sous tes mains
Peu m'importent les problèmes
Mon amour puisque tu m'aimes...
Same place, different day, double the joy. :-) took her today to experience her first Fall. She loved the leaves, the acorns, and climbing on the log! Thank you, {PixChick} www.flickr.com/photos/mseminem/ for coming with us!

Rich and I had been out since six o'clock, and I needed to get to work. As we returned to the car, we passed the ruins of a building being demolished after it burned. I had said something to Rich about wishing I could get in there, and all of a sudden, we found a back entry that had been left open. No time to spend there. Damn!!!! Couple of quick shots and away we went.
The first geese of the season arrived in Fairbanks this year on March 29. It's the earliest arrival time on record. Some in the group might think it was a poor decision.

Back in Fontainebleau after years away and delighted to see our favourite patisseries are still doing fine and still absolutely delicious. I'm going to gain 50kg on this trip...
First flight.
I came across tree swallows fluttering around a nest box making a lot of noise. Suddenly a young swallow launched itself from the box and flew unsteadily around the box. Four times it tried unsuccessfully to land on the box, but on its fifth attempt it made a very clumsy landing. Mom, dad and even its siblings were all very excited.
The young swallow had apparently had enough excitement so after resting for some time it somehow managed to get itself back into the nesting box.
Taken at John Heinz NWR.

Not the best of shots, but my first of one of these in Daventry for a good many months. First Leicester 33728 (SN12 ALO) is seen along Prospect Way, Daventry, with an inbound BHX3 service to Amazon. 27th March 2023
Yep, I like the light in this one! And these photobombing waterbirds only add to the scene so no need to clone that Coot out either lol.
I am rather busy atm so not as long a blurb as normal. Hopefully I will be back up to full warble shortly!
