First time ever in Belfast (and Northern Ireland), having so far focused on 'The South', I must say I felt like if that city had a soul to itself. Really loved feeling history at each street corner and in each (red) brick...
Yesterday, there was light snow on the ground. Interestingly, as it melted in the morning sun, sectoring occurred on top of the sculpture known as "The Bean" in Millennium Park. Presumably, the sectors correspond to the steel plates welded together to create the sculpture. This was the first time in 12 years living downtown that I had witnessed this phenomenon.
I have waited a long time to see a Bulleid Pacific in Scotland and although a couple of West Country's have made it north of the border (not that I saw them) a Merchant Navy has never been up here. Back in 1966 a West Country was supposed to work a special from Glasgow to Aberdeen and so my mate and I went up to Perth to see it. We waited and waited and nothing turned up, then this guy appeared and told us it had been cancelled due to lack of interest, can you believe it!! Still at school at the time, we couldn't have afforded to go on it, but you would have thought there would have been enough interest. So here I am, 56 years later finally seeing one up here. With the well known Edinburgh landmark of Arthurs Seat in the background, 35018 British India Line passes Kingsknowe station with the returning Preston to Edinburgh Edinburgh Flyer.
First time in Colorado. On the way to Jefferson lake. Very scenic and with a whole different vibe than Cincinnati. Unfortunately we only had a few days. Way too much to see in such a short time!
[LX11AWF] Here is Arriva's ex-Stagecoach ENL105 making it's first appearance on the SL5 as a bandit due to it not being blinded, Here it is seen between Bromley Civic Centre and the Mall
First time planting them in years... still waiting on flowers, but the leaves are still so pretty and edible as are the flowers!!
First time shooting auroras but man what a buzz it is. This location is Hamnøy in the Lofoten Islands. I had the privelage of waking up to this view every morning and it made up for having to put up with Peter Spencers snoring ;-) .
Any tips on how best to process aurora to remove light polution etc then pls let me know.
Cheers

Walking home from the office last night, decided to walk to the station via canal street, first time in 2-3+ years, I look up to find an entire skyscraper had appeared since I was last there. Kinda surreal
The first time up the Cedar Hill Road southern terminus for the 1981 Jack Taylor. My first time to tackle this climb was 55 years ago, with my dad.

Our first view of the small village/town of Poros on the south east coast of Kefalonia. A jewel of an island set amidst the gorgeous blue of the Ionian sea
My first time shooting the Ravenel bridge. I got eaten alive by mosquitoes and a big mushroom cloud came up on the right and I have alot of streaking going on and grain, but, I learned alot and I had fun! Think I'm going to wait for cooler weather to go practice on the bridge again though :)
The Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge is a cable stayed bridge over the Cooper River running from Charleston to Mount Pleasant in South Carolina. After beginning construction in 2001 it opened in July of 2005 to replace two outdated and deteriorating truss bridges.
At 2.5 miles long, it is the 3rd longest cable stay bridge in the Western Hemisphere.
My Licca girls made it outdoors for the first time ever. Around the front porch, there's a distinct feel of spring already and the stone tiles were all snowfree too. The girls were happy to pose for me there for a bit.
It was the first time i saw a hawfinch in our garden !
in front of the kitchenwindow, wish you a nice Wednesday and listen the :
Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain
Telling me just what a fool I′ve been
I wish that it would go and let me cry in vain
And let me be alone again
The only girl I care about has gone away
Looking for a brand new start
But little does she know
That when she left that day
Along with her she took my heart
Rain please tell me now does that seem fair
For her to steal my heart away when she don't care
I can′t love another when my hearts somewhere far away...

I know a secret spot just for us
Where you can see the city perfectly
We don't have to do drugs, kiss, or touch
But if you want to, that works for me
We can both pretend it's the first time
Like we don't know what heartbreak feels like
Like we ain't ever watched everything we love burn to the ground Yeah, that'd be real nice
Look at the lights
I wonder if anyone sees us from all the way out there
Probably not
So, whatcha waitin' on?
Go head, let it out now, I ain't scared
I got demons too, if you even knew
Probably the only reason I believe in you
I know what they look like
And you've got the look like you've got somethin'
Stuck inside
They slicin' up your heart like pumpkin pie
It must be scrumptious, everyone just wants to try
Until there's nothing left and, yet, they wonder why
You run and hide
Cause there's somethin' eating you alive

One of the many great things about visiting the Causeway for sunset is that you often will meet tourists from all over the world. After chatting with some Belgian photographers who were trying to catch the Causeway for the first time ever, I came across some intrepid Germans who were determined to explore the end of the Causeway. Granted, the views here are stunning, especially as the sun pokes its head out of the storm clouds that had been racing across our skies all the day, and as the Atlantic waves break all around you. What they didn't realise was that those self same waves can break up over the edge sometimes. And, yes, the inevitable happened and they ended up with wet feet not long after this shot was taken. But, it seems that just added to the fun - and certainly added to the story they will tell of that time they enjoyed the beauty on offer in a Causeway sunset.
With a sheen that'd make her builders proud, Soo Line 2-8-2 Mikado #1003 simmers on the Mars Candy spur in Galewood, IL. It's her first trip to Chicago ever.

Rabbits
More than one critter
For six word story.
When I was young, I had a collection of 'unreal rabbits.' These two napkin rings were given to me to add to the collection.
