First time I used a silicone chip in a piece. Cutting the casing away from the chip inside was tougher than I thought. The two chips are mounted into small sandblasted recesses.

Nothing could make me love Summer more, except maybe a boat ride with our closest friends. Nick and I were invited to join Jeff an Kara on their pontoon last weekend to meet Nora. Nora came over from Korea a couple months ago, and she has been shy around strangers (understandably).
I think they have discovered the secret to integrating new people: stick her on a boat with them so she can’t escape…she warmed up and became playful around us very quickly...success!

Since I got the new Mac I've had to learn a few new things. This was my first time using "Pages" and, no surprise, was much more intuitive than the alternative.

First time visiting Crystal Mountain which is on the NE corner of Mount Rainer. For $20/person you can enjoy a 12min Gondola Ride atop the Mountain to get breathtaking views of Mount Rainer. Beautiful landscape and interesting wildlife and flowers.
Citi Cards had a phenomenal first-time campaign thanks to a committed senior management team. Individual locations challenged each other to exceed expectations, driving Citi Cards to surpass their $50,000 goal and raise more than $64,000. Congratulations and way to go Citi Cards.
The Daimler Trucks Canada Ltd., Mississauga Parts Distribution Centre demonstrated a great effort in raising awareness and generating funds during their first United Way campaign. A committee comprised of management, office and shift employees came together to spread awareness by hanging posters and banners, and organizing two kick-off information sessions. We will make sure they get their award.
First time photographing fireworks. Taken at the Adventure Aquarium overlooking the city of Philadelphia PA. Sony a-200 at ISO100, F22, with kit zoom lens at 18mm. I started with 30 second exposures but became too cluttered. Six seconds was enough for each burst of fireworks.

I traveled to India for the first time to present a keynote at the 3rd Global Conference on Emerging Trends for Business Librarianship, November 21-22, 2017 at the Indian Institute of Management - Ahmedabad, India. I will also be attending the Asian business librarian meeting on Monday the 20th. Sunday the 19th of November we did some sightseeing and enjoyed the Heritage Walk of the center of this historic city. Here are various pictures of temples, mosques, historic buildings, cattle and other sites from the inner-city of Ahmedabad. We had a tremendous tour guide and it was a wonderful way to learn about the history of Ahmedabad. Here is the description of tour: "The 600 years old city of Ahmedabad (1411 A.D) has some of the finest Indian-Islamic monuments and exquisite Hindu and Jain temples. Its carved wooden houses are another unique architectural tradition. To experience the glory of Ahmedabad it is necessary to walk through the 'Walled City' and truly observe the nature of its rich and varied architecture, its art, religious places, its culture and traditions.With the purpose of unveiling this aspect of the city to the tourists and the citizens themselves The Heritage Walk of Ahmedabad was launched by the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) in association with CRUTA Foundation, an NGO, on 19th November 1997, during World Heritage Week.A special feature of Ahmedabad is the plan of the old city, comprising numerous 'Pols', self-contained neighborhoods, sheltering large numbers of people. Some of these 'Pols' are virtually small villages, traversed by narrow lanes, usually terminating in squares (Chowks) comprising 'Community Well' and 'Chabutro' (for feeding birds). These 'Pols' were protected by gates, cul-de-sacs and secret passages. These historic residential settlements are explained in detail during the walk.The walk commences from the early 19th century Swaminarayan temple Kalupur, encompasses 20 main spots besides numerous areas and aspects of the old city and concludes at the famous 15th century Jama Masjid. Hence the Walk is popularly known as the journey of 'Mandir to Masjid'.The Walk, initiated more than one and a half decades ago, the first one of its kind by an Urban Local Body (ULB), has been continuing its journey with an unbroken record of 15 years and has lived up to its purpose of reviving the old city through rediscovery. The Ahmedabad model of Heritage Walk is being replicated in many other historic cities and towns of India like Jaipur, Amritsar, Lucknow etc. to conserve heritage and promote tourism."
