After a hiatus for the class, the Brush-built Class 60s are most definitely back on the Liverpool-Drax biomass circuit. Moving across from Doncaster to Merseyside on a rare mid-week loco move, two of the three GB Railfreight Class 60s that have been repainted to date head past Plumley foot crossing.
60095 was leading 60026 "Helvellyn" on 0Z70 13:50 Doncaster Down Decoy to Tuebrook Sidings. This was 60026's first trip to the Northwest since going into Beacon Rail blue.
Kayaking Lady first sea outing and a Monster Pollock.
The weather looked good for a change and this trip to the east looks interesting. Not long ago I purchased another small fishing kayak and hoped my girl would follow around. So we headed to the East ,promising day ,no wind.I fancied a new bit along the coast ,unfortunatly the access was limited .Camy a new kayak fishing buddy was already there waiting for us on the water ..It is always good to meet new people and share some technics..Anyway ,we paddle 1/2 mile out and meet up with Camy. With a cod in his bag already nothing would go wrong...My girl never fished on the kayak and I set her up for some mackerel with a good jig for weight .I left some bait in the car and was looking for fresh mackerel ..The morning went by and we were having some fun ,I was jigging my sandeel from savagear ,and those work! Some good size cod coming up our way ..And then silence broke out.My lady had a fish on ,camy was at her side at that time and assured her she had something on at the end of the line. 5 minutes passes and I paddle closer .by the time the fish was still fighting and I got a glimpse of it ,a heavy bar of silver swimming just under my kayak..And what a whooper.I landed the fish and asked her to hold the fish for a small picture .Well lesson learned ,if you take your lady fishing garantee she will catch Bigger .recently I have changed ways of fishing at sea ..I dropped the baited hooki for lure fishing and that worked for the bigger fish..Lures are more expensive though and every time you snagg one it's like loosing a small fortune. All 3 of us had a great day and this pollock was an absolute Craker .Nicolas
Took this photo of my service dog, Addie, during our first dog beach trip together in November of 2014. This was at the Ocean Beach Dog Beach in San Diego.

I know, I have shared this location with you a few times, but none has been as amazing as the first time I visited this marsh. At least the first time for the sunrise. I did visit here once before in the evening for a full moon, but thats different! Any way, this particular time, the mist coming off of the water was just the best and there has been no other time where it was this amazing! Of corse it was 40 something degrees outside and the sun was starting to warm the water up which is why it was so amazing, but I will never forget this first sunrise at the Ramona marsh. Please do enjoy this older image! (I have not had a chance to "get out" to shoot in a while, not a lot of new stuff. Its killing me! I do shoot every day, but just around the house? NO, got to get back to the beach, back to the sunrise images back to ME!) Summer is killing me, already!
This is the first photo I ever posted to Flickr after finding this platform had others like me in twenty thirteen. The first time I'd bought high heel shoes tried make-up, and squeezed myself into one of my then unsuspecting wife's dresses. Fifty years of age!! Yes fifty years of denial. Fifty years of hiding and disguising my wierd body. Fifty years living the lie. YES I WAS FUCKIN ANGRY....and OMG'sh I wish I could have taken this pic with a better camera. Not enough pixels to sharpen HD I'm told....
And this was the outfit. First time properly out (as in letting everyone know about my hobby) , surrounded by 70+ strangers and friends. A very liberating experience. I wasn't full Holly though. Just me in a skirt in the forest. Well, 3 skirts. I did have to change as it was a 3 day weekend event. Had a birthday too. I'm now the grand old age of LII.
The sun makes briefly appears over Geelong Station as Steamrail's volunteers re-board the Test Train of newly restored steam locomotive K183 as it prepares to depart for Melbourne on train 8296 hauling its first passenger train after restoration by Steamrail from Newport to Gheringhap & Return. 13/11/21
This is how I was dressed the first time I appeared to my wife as Marianna, the skirt came from a charity shop, I couldn't decide what to wear with it so she suggested this blouse she had on loan from her mother. Back in the 80/90's I dressed like this lots of the time, this time I thought I looked old and typically tranny. My wife was uncomfortable with it and was happy for the excuse to go out when her Dad called, so I had to do pictures myself.
1er Reflex acheté une semaine avant le départ. Premières photos sans aucune connaissance, shoot en tout auto.
Mais quel KIFF !
First ride out on Navi since Lockdown, (apart from going to work on it now and again!)
123 miles done.
Home in Sheffield to Loxley, Worrall, Oughtibridge, High Bradfield, Wigtwizzle, Midhopestones, Langsett, Dunford Bridge via A628, (Very windy there!) Hade Edge, Holmfirth, Holmbridge, Holme, Woodhead to cross the A628 to head for Old Glossop and Glossop petrol station for a Starbucks and a couple of biscuits for lunch. Then heading to Chapel-en-le-Frith via Chunal, Hayfield, Chinley Head and New Smithy. Crossing the A6 from Chapel to head past Slack Hall down the lovely Winnets Pass, through the back of Castleton to Bradwell, Tideswell, Cressbrook, Monsal Dale, Ashford in the Water, Sheldon, Monyash, Newhaven, (paused for a coffee) then to Tissington to go through the Ford, up to Longcliffe and down the very nice and curvy Via Gellia Road to Cromford and down through an almost empty Matlock past Darley Dale and Rowsey heading for Chatsworth for a picture, then home via Baslow, Calver, Froggatt, Fox House, Ringinglow Sheffield and home.. Nice 123 (s)miles done today.. Sunny, very windy in places, clouded over now and again.
A couple we met on the seaplane to Stehekin, WA generously offered us a canoe to make the shortcut to the trailhead across the river. This saved us a bus ride 4.5 miles up north and then a hike 3.5 miles back down south. But first we needed to know how this canoe thing worked...?

First time in 18 years of ownership our Arab died in service, it limped back to Bury with a missfire and radiator leaking. Might be head problems.
There's a first time for everything! We took 2 of our horses out to the beach last sunday, they were actually really calm, which isn't always normal with horses and the sea.....
These are Out of the Blue Dark Romance and Dark Sensation, both 4 year old Friesian mares.
I have a story to tell.
It's about insecurity.
The insecurity of a mother, and the insecurity of the photographer.
This young woman is the daughter of a very dear friend.
It's important to me that she be happy with her images.
After a shoot, and before I go through the images, I am always thinking, "Oh, no, oh, no, I hope I got something, I hope I didn't screw up."
So, I edited the lot and sent them to her. At that point, I try very had not to be anxious while I wait for the clients' response.
A few days later, she emails to tell me she likes them. A simple sentence. I hope she is happy, not simply being polite.
Later in the day, I am with the clients' mother, the grandmother to this darling baby. She says her daughter loves the images. The insecure photographer (me) says, "Really? Are you sure? Is she being kind?"
You see, the daughter has modeled, logged time behind the camera.
Her mom says, "Oh, no. She wept."
And so did I.
Photographer friends, never underestimate the value of what you are doing.
Period.
25046 is seen parked on Inverness depot on 2nd July 1977.
This had been an LMR loco from new, but was reallocated to Haymarket only a month or so before this photo was taken, so it might well be its first visit so far north.
Despite an overhaul at Glasgow Works in 1980, this loco was stored in early 1981 and quickly withdrawn, but hung around until eventually being cut up in 1987 by Vic Berry in Leicester.
Really liked this today,The first time i've regretted leaving the wide angle lens at home,Next time LOL
Son's first impressions of his ride on the Big Wheel for the first time at Adventure Island in Southend-on-Sea
First time driving one of the original, native six bendy buses in the fleet and was not disapointed. Much like having 10044 for my 1s the other evening, 10052 was a fantastic drive for my afternoon on the 2s, not to mention on a cold day it has fantastic cab heating! Now just to get a shot of W2 FAL before it retires...
Seen at Ashwood on Monday 14th December 2015.
A stranger at the Glasgow Works open day on 27th June 1981 was 44008, en route to the Strathspey railway. Probably the first visit here by any of the class.
44008 was withdrawn along with the two remaining Class 44’s during November 1980 and stored at Toton. In June 1981 the locomotive moved north to Scotland heading for preservation on the Strathspey Railway at Boat of Garten in the Highlands. Six years later it was sold to the North Notts Locomotive Group in 1987 and the locomotive returned to the East Midlands.
