Hayat büyüklük gösterisi değil. Herşeyi niceliklere çevirdik, niteliği unuttuk. Hep bir sidik yarışı; ne kendi hayatımız için ne de başkaları için en iyisini düşünür olduk. Kirlendik, çocukken oynadığımız oyunlardan sonra olduğu gibi değil, bildiğiniz kirliyiz… Birbirimize çamur atmaktan hoşlanır olduk, çocukça bir oyun olmuyor bu oynadığımız, tüm iğrençliğiyle.
Doğruluk ve dürüstlüğün yerini rekabet alalı çok oldu; yani öleli bayağı bir oldu insanlık. Kendimizi kandırıyoruz modernlik mitiyle. Vahşi bir dünya var bu modernliğin içinde. Hep bir aitlik arıyor bireyler, bir topluluğa, bir partiye, bir takıma; kendine ait olmadan, arayacaklarını içlerinde değil, kalabalıkta bulmaya çalışıyorlar. Samanlıkta iğne aramak gibi, oysa iğne üstünde bir yerde. Bu yüzden, bizden olmayanlar doğuyor, ötekiler doğuyor, benim için başkaları ‘diğer’ oluyor. İnsanlar bu şekilde birbirini öldürüyor rahatlıkla, bu şekilde yönlendiriliyorlar istenildiği şekilde, kullanmasını bilene.
Bütünleşemiyoruz, belki de doğa gereği… Beş parmağın beşi bir değil ne de olsa. Ama birbirimizi de anlayamıyoruz. Çünkü saygı duymuyoruz. Ben, varlığımı, düşüncemi sana borçluyum. Senin bana öğreteceklerin var ve benim de sana… Bunu bilmek ne güzel, bunu bilip de sana saygı duymak o kadar rahatlatıcı. Sen bir taşsın, belki de akan bir su ya da çevremi saran hava; değiştirmez bu sana duyduğum saygıyı. Sende benden birşeyler var, bende de senden. Birlikte çoğalalım, sensiz eksik kalırım çünkü…
Hayat hızla akıp geçiyor. İyi öğrenmeliyim yaşamayı, her tarafından bakabilmeyi, ben olarak anlayabilmeyi… Daha kolay böylece nefes almak. Saygı duyuyorum hayata ve ona ait olan herşeye…

Thick black smoke billows from a massive fire on an industrial estate in Cricklewood, London NW2, on the evening of Friday, 24th August 1984 as seen looking south from the western side of Brent Cross Flyover adjacent to Brent Cross Shopping Centre.
The A406 North Circular Road can be seen in the foreground and behind the advertisement hoardings is now a Toys'R'Us and a Tesco store.

At 9:41pm on June 26, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to a reported vegetation fire, located at Coal Oil Point in Goleta.
The fire initially grew from one to ten acres, at a moderate rate of spread, burning near the Venoco storage tanks and buildings.

Fire really is rather fascinating to watch and to photograph!
I'm not certain what this machine did, but I suspect it was some kind of control center for a fire supression system. The room it was in had documents indicating it was a fire safety office.

I found a large group of people hanging out in a small courtyard in the Barri Gotic district of Barcelona and there were two guys playing with fire.
Okay, so he's not actually headless (I hope) but I wanted a slight underexposure to emphasize the shape of the fire and keep the noise to a minimum, so the head had to come off.
You understand.

Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.
But anyway love is a fire. Whether it is going to warm your hearth or burn down your house, you can never tell.
