NORTH SAN FERNANDO VALLEY - On the evening of October 10, 2019, a fire broke out in Sylmar during a Santa Ana wind event and burned through Granada Hills and Porter Ranch. Firefighters battled violent flames in extreme fire weather conditions, as nearly 18,000 homes were threatened by the wildfire. Ultimately, the fire consumed 8,799 acres and destroyed 19 structures, while damaging 88 others. One civilian suffered cardiac arrest and died at the hospital. Eight firefighters sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Beholders go way back in D&D, and have become so tied with the game that you can't even rip them off and get away with it! They also have many, many variahnts, from crablike Eyes of the Deep to Overseers, which resemble fleshy trees. The Eye of FLame and Eye of Frost are pretty vanilla variations, but they make sense - rather than the massive variety of spell effects usually offered bya beholder's eyestalks, these ones stick with various elemental themes. They are indeed quite nasty even with those limitations, though.
We roasted marshmallows and made smores.

Odd place to have a fire alarm. Just a few feet inside the store sits this wooden post with a fire alarm mounted on it. Not sure if its required by local fire code or what? None of the other stores nearby seemed to have one located so close to the entrance.

May 29th 2005 - Near Mist, Oregon. Camping along the Nehalem River. Telling ghost stories around the fire and then we got a visitor.
It was moving and distant when I tried to get a shot of it; so It is not enough in focus for me to be sure which department it belongs to, nor what specific type of fire/emergency vehicle it is. I am guessing Monroe or Corvallis, but I don't really know.

I don't like the result, but it's my first attempt with matches so I upload those two photos in the hope that the followings would be better.
Firefighters from Ravenna Twp. , Rootstown, and Randolph along with others fight a large building fire early Saturday morning around 1:00 AM. The large building owned by Kevin and Dawnette Caulbourne of 4575 Hayes Rd. in Ravenna Twp. held over $40,000 worth of remote control cars and parts along with a 130 ft. remote control car track. About 50 area residents raced their small remote control cars on the indoor track that is in this building every weekend. The building and most everything in it is a total loss. It took firefighters a few hours to get the fire under control due to the cold and lack of fire hydrants in the area. Water to fight the fire came from tanker trucks from several area towns. 12-22-01 **The building is also worth several thousand dollars** The Coulbourne's can be reached at 296-1175
The pilot light on the boiler blew out, or so I thought, but it just wouldn't relight, so settled for the old fashioned way of heating up the room, needless to say Smudge enjoyed it as much as me !
What started as a puncture for this River Island HGV turned into a tyre fire after an hour or so.
We stopped on the M74 to help when just the tyre was alight, used a small powder extinguisher but I guessed it wouldn't put down the fire due to the heat.

The 51,000+-acre Sheepshead fire burned almost entirely in open desert country dominated by grass and shrubs. Most of the fire was on BLM land and the rest was on private land. No National Forest land was involved in this fire and very little forest burned.
The Sheepshead fire was located in southeast Oregon, 75 miles southeast of Burns. The fire was ignited by lightning on August 9, 2001, and spread rapidly in the open shrub and grassland area to more than 10,000 acres by August 11. Passing thunderstorms, gusty winds and multiple new fires impeded containment efforts. This complex of fires consisted of the Sheepshead and Stone House fire.
