It's going to get down to 28 degrees tonight ... Those of you that live where it "really gets cold" are thinking "Awww, that's nothing" I'm sure ... but keep in mind that this is Southern California, we start shivering when it drops below 70 degrees.
Anyways, so tonight I got the fireplace going and I decided to try to get some good fire shots. It's a lot harder than it seems. Talk about trying to hit a moving target! ... Fire just won't stand still long enough to get a decent shot. Try it, it's a good photo exercise.
Taking photos at a controlled burn and was pleasantly surprised when I found this. This is straight out of the camera.
I sat this yellow Asiatic Lilly flower on a sheet of glass and had a very small spot light shining from below. The room was darkened.
Car Fire in LA. CA. I over heard the police talking after it was out. One officer said "The guy (owner of the car) said he had been working on the stereo earlier today, maybe he left a wire exposed or something."
Ya think???
Poor guy, at least no one was hurt.

A massive fire under the MTA Metro-North Railroad elevated line on Park Av. near 118th St. caused a halt in train traffic while engineers assessed the stability of the structure.

Jolene, as I believe, was crouching behind the bush peeing while I was taking some random pictures of the beautiful fire I started to keep us cushy warm. By some luck I managed to snap a picture just as the fire did this wicked swirly-twisting motion.
