Strobist info: It was lit with a single SB-24 high and to the right set on low power with a snoot, triggered by hot shoe radio. Levels and cropping in PS.
When I was leaving Bonnyville today I was detoured off mainstreet due to a fire in the "Install It" shop. The fire was pretty well out (just a little bit of smoke still coming out of the roof). The RCMP has the street blocked but a restaurant parking lot across the street was full of onlookers and of course I had to join them to take some pictures. Never know when I might need them for MSH group
Spring is management fire season at Tallgrass Prairie NPres. We had a steady wind of 6-8 mph, with gusts up to 10 mph, when I was there - so I was surprised to see a burn going on.
As it turns out, the crew was surprised to have been asked to do a burn in those conditions. They had shut it down pretty quickly as the day progressed and the winds picked up.
This is most of the crew returning to their cars at the end of the day. A few remained behind to keep an eye on what was left of the fire. (And, alas, I don't have photos.)
I took this photo while I was at my friend Jo's house in Toora. We had a fire going outside, and I think it was almost a full moon.

May 10th, 2007 NYC - Empire State Building Fire or Fog...??? We smelled smoke. The sky was filled with smoke. We seen the smoke pouring out of the Empire State Building. There were fire trucks from all over going to the Empire State Building. Police and what appeared to be FBI also came to the Empire State Building. People stopped everywhere watching in awe. Growing up, I collected dragons a lot. Still do, though not nearly as rampantly. I picked this one up in Orlando...actually, Disney World, I think, when I was there on a band trip. Waaaay back in high school that was...but this is still one of my favorite candle holders.
