Photographed during the closing ceremony fire event at the 2013-14 Woodford Folk Festival. An audience of over 20,000 watched from the hillside.
The prairies around Olympia, Washington offered a local opportunity for the Fire and Environmental Research Applications Team (FERA) to study fire behavior in simple fuelbed, one of the steps necessary for validation of fire behavior and fuel consumption models.
We acknowledge funding for this research from the U.S. Forest Service, Pacific Northwest and Rocky Mountain research stations.

Another large fire in New Westminster has left many people homeless. Photos taken at 5:30 and 7:30 AM.

What you hear in the background is the voice from the nearby television.
I have not done any fire photography. Had the pleasure of attending an evening of practice by the Fire Arts Collective in Oakland. I look forward to improving my craft with these creative people.
City was full of zombies yesterday... I don't know is "zombie walk" a global thing, I would assume yes. Some weeks ago sluts were on the walk (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SlutWalk), now it was zombies. Shame I actually missed the walk itself, I only saw some zombies in park after the walk
This was an interesting fire/art piece at an event I went to. The colors were interesting with some green mixed in with the flames.
Angel loves to sit in front of the fireplace, but our cat Crackers seems to be stealing the prime real estate...
The Lake Fire north of us in Santa Barbara County is sending a lot of smoke and ash our way which turns the setting sun bright red. Ahhhh... Fire season. Fun, huh?
