...but first find the Volvo. Plip for a Volvo found on top of Old Man of Coniston today 15th May. Had a cruise round when we eventually got down off the top but didn't com across any Volvo owners in distress. Looks like a putting in a call to the Cumbia Plod and Coniston Tourist Office in the morning.
Mind you the keys could have been up there a week already. Certainly would spoil someone's day to have that 'hand in unexpectedly empty pocket' moment.
An experimental combining of square and curved shapes with contrasting and mid range colours echoing the spatial contrast. It felt like the collection of 'things' should be floating near the top of the frame instead of sitting dead centre.
If you're reading a distorted human face into the image that's because I became aware, when I was assembling the components, that there was a certain humanoid like aspect to them and grouped them accordingly.

Will she sit on anyone's lap to sleep? Yes.

A new risky test (due to quality problems) of Svema films, here the OTO 200, in Lyon France, December 26, 2022.
I used my Zorki 4K camera (year 1977) equipped the 42-mm shade hood of my Focaflex and a FOCA anti-UV filter.
Svema (Свема) OTO 200 is a super-panchromatic film coated on a very thin polyester flat base that looks very closed to the aerial film Agfa Aviphot 200. The film an extended sensitization in the red to the near IR at 780 nm,
The film was exposed for 200 ISO using a Minolta Autometer III and its 10° finder for selective measurements privileging the shadows zones of the scenes.
Typically, and due to the poor light conditions, exposures was at 1/125s or 1/60s from f/4.5 to full aperture (f/2 of the KMZ Jupiter 8 lens)

After exposures the film was processed using Adox Adonal (equivalent to Agfa Rodinal) developer at dilution 1+25, 20°C for 7min (the Rollei Superpan 200 required 8min in the same conditions) according to data found on www.digitaltruth.com).
The film was then digitalized using a Sony A7 body fitted to a Minolta Slide Duplicator installed on a Minolta Auto Bellows III with a lens Minolta Bellow Macro Rokkor 50mm f/3.5.
All views of the film are presented in the dedicated album either in the printed framed versions and unframed full-size jpeg. The negative views have of poor density and the film suffers from 2 major other problems :
1- The film is shorter than indicated since I made only 33 views instead for the given 36 exposures.
2 - Aside the first 6 views, the emulsion is damaged by darker zones and density "punctures" indicated that the stock film is likely from a stock that was poorly preserved, maybe exposed to chemical vapors or outdated (contrary to the indicated expiry date in April 2024 (batch #33). The same damages were observed the previous FOTO 400 film test indicating quality problems for these Svema films.
As for the Agfa Aviphot 200 (Rollei Superpan 200) the film is backed with a water-soluble anti halation coat that need to be removed prior to development. Three bathes of 1min with water at the same development temperature was necessary to remove the black and dark blue layer.
About the camera :
This camera was manufactured in 1977 by KMZ company ( Красногорский механический завод, Krasnogorskiy Mechanicheskiy Zavod) located in the Moscow region. KMZ also manufactured the ZENIT SLR's among many other productions. Zorki 4K was produced between 1972 to 1978 and the previous Zorki models were inspired by the Leica II since 1949. This model 'Made in USSR" is branded in roman characters, intentionally for exportation. Other Zorki 4K were also branded in Cyrillic as "Зоркий". Zorki 4K was sold basically either with this Jupiter-8 lens 1:2 f=50mm or the Industar lens1:3.5 f=50mm. The Jupiter-8 is a Sonnar Zeiss optical formula and fits to the Zorki body using the screwing M39 Leica mount.
Its was sold to me in August 2022 from Austria with its original ever-ready leather bag, a front lens cap and a small shade hood accessory Minolta D42KA. The shade hood and filter of my Focaflex also fit to the Jupiter lens (Leica standard 42 mm filter)

Zacuto Z-Finder EVF 3.2” monitor has higher resolution than DSLR LCD screens. These screens have a resolution of 640×480 on a 3:2 aspect ratio screen. Therefore, you only effectively see the resolution at 640×360 in 16×9. The Zacuto Z-Finder EVF monitor resolution is a true 800×480 making the resolution 56% greater than the on-board DSLR camera screens. The Zacuto monitor also has a tighter dot pitch which also improves the quality, making you see a much tighter pixel pattern.
The Z-Finder EVF is currently in prototype stages. It will be available in February 2011 (limited supply) and we are estimating the price to be $775.00. This the test film of the Jupiter-11 1:4 f=135mm lens received among a set of Russian opticals including as well a Jupiter-12 1:2.8 f=35mm, a KMZ Universal multi-focal finder, and 3 Hoya filters 40.5mm screw mount.
The Jupiter-11 is a Russian version ("Sonnar Kransogorsk") of the pre-war original Carl Zeiss Sonnar 13.5cm f/4 for the Contax that Russia produced since 1948 to around 1980. The lens was manufactured in 1978 by the KOMZ ("Kazansky Optiko-Mechanichesky Zavod") in the USSR.
The lens was mounted on my Zorki-4K camera and equipped with the Hoya UV 40.5mm filter, a small cylindrical shade hood (the one of the FOCAFLEX for a 50mm lens. For framing the universal KMZ finder was used for the focal of 135mm but I did not used the parallax correction of the finder (forgotten). The Zorki-4K range finder is coupled to the lens and gives correct distance measurements.
The Zorki-4K camera was loaded with a Kodak ColorPlus 36-exposure film. It was exposed for 200 ISO with my Autometer III Minolta light-meter fitted with a 10° finder for selective measurements.
During the photo session, I had a small problem with the shutter that needed to successive cocking lever actions to recover both film advance and shutter cocking. I lost 5 blank frames to realize and solve the problem.

After exposure, the film was processed by a local lab service using the C-41 protocol. The film was then digitalized using a Sony A7 body fitted to a Minolta Slide Duplicator installed on a Minolta Auto Bellows III with a lens Minolta Bellow Macro Rokkor 50mm f/3.5. The RAW files obtained were processed without intermediate files in LR and edited to the final jpeg pictures.
All views of the film are presented in the dedicated album either in the printed framed versions and unframed full-size jpeg accompanied by some documentary smartphone Vivio Y76 color pictures.

The Sapan Mori trail at Bharatpur has it's own rewards for those who wait. The shallow waters and the presence of aquatic vegetation constitutes a perfect hiding spot for growing catfish, in turn becoming the perfect hunting grounds for herons. Standing motionless like meditating monks, herons wait for catfish to move and spring into action at the slightest of movement in water. Small fish are killed and gulped down immediately while the larger ones are carried to dry patches making escape impossible.
