I found a little love on my morning walk yesterday, and I just wanted to share it with you. ♡ Thank you for your thoughtful and encouraging words on my last post (and every post!). You guys blow me away with your generosity. Please don’t feel obligated to comment though. I know how busy everyone is, and I don’t want to be a source of stress for anyone. Just to clarify, my caption yesterday wasn’t about taking a break from Flickr altogether. (I also didn’t mean to be dramatic or vague.) When things are challenging, sometimes I just need quiet time for reflection.
Anyway, I’m working on catching up with all of you! If I happen to miss your profile for some reason, please let me know in the comments below, and I will pop over to your gallery for a visit. x

Since my favorite month of the year started today I wanted to upload something new, so here it goes!
I actually wanted to shoot at a lake this morning, but on my way sun started rising and with the beautiful light I couldn't help stopping and so I took pictures there while turning into an icicle.
inspired by a brilliant song called "Finders Keepers" by Miriam Bryant!
These two Snowys were very busy preening their feathers, but it actually looks like they are looking for something in their feathers. I love Snowy Egrets!

Can you believe that we had a thunder and lightning storm this morning along with more rain than I can remember seeing in Bahrain in 7 years? It was fabulous!!
Gaia and I splashed happily in the new moat surrounding our house despite having electricity working in only half the house and water dripping from the ceilings in the bathrooms.
I'm happy that we collected these little treasures yesterday before they could be swept away from us. Then we'd be losers weepers.
Created for the new Hypothetical Awards Mini-Challenge: "FINDERS KEEPERS" Check it out!
The cupcake was actually photographed in the middle of a parking lot. A casualty from some child's birthday celebration, I imagine.
Thanks so much to everyone for your visits, comments, awards, invites and favorites! Very much appreciated!
I haven't posted steam in a while, and as I was searching for a photo last night, I came across this set of photos from the Everett railroad that I completely forgot I had. On a 2018 trip to the West Slope, my schedule coincided with a railfan trip they were running. We broke off from the parade on the Horseshoe curve to chase this cool line. Seen here somewhere on the way to Roaring Spring (calm down foam police, I've only chased here once) the train passed through lush spring fields in the Alleghenies. The weather was fantastic, and allowed us to grab some real keepers.

The cover I created for my just-completed novel. The photograph I took from inside a Nazi WWII bunker under a farm at the end of a fjord in Norway. A lot of my novel is set in Norway, but is not about the Nazis or WWII. You can see the original machine gun mount still in situ. The candelabras a token of the farmer's sense of humour, but he did lose an aunt when the Allies bombed the farm to take out the bunker complex. My wife insisted though THIS photograph belongs on the cover. The times Literary Review has not reviewed the novel (yet), that is my bit of humour and self promotion. Finishing the novel is the culmination of a life goal. If it gets published that will be the cream on top If someone buys a copy that will be a cherry

A quick build for Brethren of the Brick Seas - and for those of y'all wondering, yes, I do have something for the ABS round in the works! You'll just have to wait and see, :)
Credit definitely goes to this build of my brother's for inspiration and some ideas!
Thanks for viewing, C&C welcome as always!
This is an old chrome of mine that has been scanned. It was shot with a (used) Mamiya 645 without a light meter or prizm finder. I guessed the exposure and thought I would get nothing, but it was worth a try. When I got my film back I was thrilled, I never expected it to come out. These two were at a temple celebration in Sanur, Bali in 1994.
I went to Chicago this past weekend to visit a friend and had to go to one of my favorite places to buy toys, Rotofugi. Needless to say I spent way too much money on toys.
A left behind jacket at the jogging track proved to be an excellent outdoor bed for this lazy kitty.
Model is Jean, freezing on my balcony for me.
Am I ever not in the middle of an artistic crisis? I'm not really making what I want to be making at the moment, and probably need a break from the internet again. I'm very much into the idea of becoming a recluse this year.

Thank you for your kind comments and favs. All are greatly appreciated.
The EM34 range finder was an superior range finder used b artillery observers in the German navy and army during the second world war. Trained soldiers could use so good that they almost were guaranteed a direct hit the first time.

I always felt the One Ring from the official LEGO sets was ridiculously out-of-scale with the mini-figs, so I thought I'd create some that were the right size.
