The sun sets over the Missouri River at Snowden, Montana on a calm evening, no noises to be heard but a pheasant's final calls, distant geese honking occasionally and coyotes yipping back and forth passing news back and forth across the river. The days are obviously shorter now and the nights frequently far cooler. Leaves have already begun to turn as the colors arrive, for autumn is to be here on the 23rd this year, only ten days away. (9-13-2023)

After its last service run, the final D Stock is seen at Ealing Common on an empty move to Acton depot.
After this, the D Stock was only used for the Railtour, though a few carriages survive as the Vivarail D Train.

As the sun's final rays reflect off the current-driven ripples, a green heron stands perfectly still at riverside. A day's hunting is over. With the break of dawn the daily escapades of these waterfowl will, again, be set in motion.
Touched by the evening rays of the sun for a final time, this ice will be gone tomorrow.
It is always invigorating to post a final winter shot knowing Spring has come to Calgary while the rest of the northern hemishere (or so it would seem) has enjoyed it for much longer.

Yankee Stadium ~ 1923-2008
I was not about to go into New York City without taking in a Yankees game, this, their final season in the old stadium. I'm glad the boy could see it.
Tonight will be the last game played in the storied venue...

Located at East 161st Street and River Avenue in The Bronx, it has hosted 6,581 Yankees home games since 1923 and has a capacity of 57,545. It was also the former home of the New York Giants football team, and once hosted dozens of boxing's most famous fights.
Yankee Stadium is one of the most famous sports venues in America, having hosted a variety of events and many historic moments during its existence. Its primary occupants, the Yankees, have won far more World Series championships (26) than any other major league club. The stadium's nickname is, "The House That Ruth Built".

It's so fun/interesting to observe the lighting and overall color palette shift as the minutes tick by. This was my first real opportunity at sunset shots in the mountains. Very little post-processing on this one, with only a slight saturation bump. Other photos from this series involved a saturation boost + or without clarity adjustment. Shot all of these in RAW format, no filters used.
