BR Standard Class 2 2-6-0 No.78018 is seen being readied for its next run at loughborough shed on the Great Central Railway.
As can be seen chalked on the smokebox door this is it's final weekend of running before its boiler ticket expires and it will require an overhaul.
Hopefully this will not take too long to complete.

Week 41
One of my images in my final portfolio for Color Technique class. Each image representing a different week in my first semester of college. This one was my favorite and most personal.

Setting up for a sunset shot, while I worked to fine tune my composition I made a number of trial shots in planning for the final position of the sun.

Santa Marina es una aldea del municipio de Santa Engracia del Jubera en La Rioja. Las casas, en buen estado de conservación, son de piedra, contando algunas con tejados de pizarra y horno de pan. Debido a su altitud no se ha podido llevar allí red eléctrica, pero casi todas sus casas están provistas de paneles solares. En invierno pasan temporadas incomunicados por las nevadas
A puffin on final approach to land on Skomer with it's load of sand eels for it's chicks. I know it isn't pin-sharp, but it was SO difficult to catch them properly in-flight, they are incredibly fast

The final sunset of 2008 was overcast and rain was on the way but I still managed to get a decent golden Kapiti Coast sunset shot complete with the dancing gull himself :-)... just!
A serendipitous shot... I did not see him until after I had taken the shot as he flew across just as I was shooting.
The clouds blowing off the island make it look almost like a volcano erupting.
The dancing gull says goodbye to 2008 and hello to a new year on the golden coast!
