A great egret landing on a very windy day. The approach was nice, but the landing was awful. It didn't help that he tried landing on a branch at a 45 degree angle. Kane County, Illinois

In Galicia, from September to June the Camellias shine with their own light. They are flowers that have adapted perfectly to the climate and terrain of the Northwest of Spain and that are found in most gardens, squares and streets of Galicia.

A few minutes later the sunset ended with a grey sky over Princess Point in the Royal Botanical Gardens, Hamilton.

With a measly 105mm lens, I think I may have been too close to this majestic deer in Richmond Park. He showed me his dentures, I got the hint and stepped away from his space.

After a while when he got used to my presence we had a great photo session together. I'm pretty sure he wanted to apologise for his earlier bad manners. All is forgiven and I'll be back in a couple of months during rutting with a longer telephoto.

Great White Pelican (Pelecanus onocrotalus)

Between the summit of Goatfell and its northern neighbour lies the Stacach Ridge. There are 2 choices, choose the less exposed path and skirt round the edge or go directly over the top. Having done both routes, I can say that your individual skill and the weather conditions will play the biggest factors on which route to take.

This route is not for the faint hearted. Most of the people standing on the summit will not come this way, there are faster and less risky routes. But for those seasoned walkers, climbers and explorers, sometimes you need that extra bit of excitement to get you there, and this ridge certainly provides that.
