Summer has finally arrived and with the longer days of glazing sunlight we prepare for vacation and time with family and friends. This year feels different though because suddenly we cannot travel far distances, see our relatives and worst of all not even plan for tomorrow.

Despite this I hope and wish that this Summer will work miracles . Let's heal ourselves with dreams of a better future where love can cure anything.

I feel optimistic despite my fears of the unknown.

A close up of an orange gerbera daisy reminds me of NASA photos of the sun, with swirling red gasses, radiant light, and rimmed by a bright corona. Happy Macro Monday!

7 Days With Flickr - Crazy Tuesday Theme: Fill the Frame

For Macro Mondays - Fill the Frame

“Not all love stories start with roses. Some start with petunias too!” - Satabdi Panda (Indian writer).

The theme for "Looking Close on Friday" the 4th of July is "fill the drame with one flower". It is deep winter where I live at present, so flowers of any kind are somewhat of a rarity, so for this theme, I have resorted to an image from my archive. Luckily for me, we had an Indian summer this year, which bled into autumn, which afforded some fine days and pretty sunshine as well as above average temperatures. At the time I took this photo of a white petunia, I still had one pot of profusely flowering petunias in my garden. It’s not easy to capture white, which can sometimes blow out. However, I don’t think I’ve done too badly here. I hope you like my choice for this week’s theme, and that it makes you smile!

HMM-- the macromonday theme for today, 1/7, is white on white.

i think i may have a few possibilities to consider.

none of the shells in this set are over an inch in length-- most are 1/2in or less....... and the autobot tagger has decided that this is food

Fill the frame. Little tiny homes from Monopoly. Natural light. It seems many are still at home. Safety can be an uncertain thing.

Day 227/365:

Macro Monday - Pink

I know I've posted a lot of pink macro flowers lately but I only managed a photo today as my macro lens was on my camera which was on the tripod. So it didn't involve a lot of bending and moving around.

I just grabbed this carnation from a bunch of flowers I picked up at the supermarket last week.

The Omni stretch glass was still attached to the lens so a little extra softness on the left hand side. HMM

This is my proper picture for Macro Monday group. HMM!

contribution to MM challenge 1/6/20, theme "fill the frame"

A mixture of things I've been planning to try and experimenting with the light source. For clarity's sake this is at least 2 layers of the same thing so there is no "empty" space!

For Looking Close...on Friday!'s #pushpins theme

These are map pins - their original colours weren't very interesting (NB colours are tweaked a bit here) and they are very cheap, plastic-y and dusty etc so not of interest in themselves, but I thought they might look quite interesting as a collection. I re-imagined them as a field or forest of stalks.

Normally with this type of image, I'd be really careful about where I placed each colour and getting the rows straight etc. But for this one i definitely found that "anything goes" went best.

Anyway, happy Friday, everyone!

Most of my daffodils are finished now but there are one or two that are late to the spring party. Just as well as I was struggling for a photo again today.

We bought a one litre bottle of industrial window cleaner to dilute as required. It has sat on my window sill, in the sunshine, for a while.....unused! But today as I sat, bored, working from home and thinking of Macro Mondays, I noticed the condensation in the neck of the plastic bottle. The theme is "Fill the Frame" so I photographed this section which is only 3 cm tall. The bubbles are on the other side of the plastic.... Oh, and I flipped it vertically

The theme for today’s Snap Happy was “Material” provided by Gary. I tried to shoot a few different sorts of materials and didn’t get any images I really liked a lot, this one is the one I disliked the least. It’s a white running sock, up very close.

I should add this was handheld with north window lighting. : )
