Water and oil, led lighting.

The looking close on Friday’s theme today, 11/12, is buttons. My mom collected these for a set of project pictures and I still have them.

I think I have a mosaic I made of the individual buttons if anyone would like to see it.

10:52 - Ripped from the headlines

This was a very tough theme for me. I don't watch the news, as most of it is too negative, and I don't want to post a negative image. So I found a headline that said that spring was coming early to Vancouver. That I can handle :)

Filling the frame with Cactus

Compositionally Challenged Week 21 - Fill the Frame

And though our roots belong to the same tree, our branches have grown in different directions.

I took this in March, just as the trees were getting tiny buds....which are now all lush with green leaves.

Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.

November in Sydney is jacaranda season

Love the jacaranda blossoms on the footpath and the gigantic canopies of purple in city parks and streetscapes!

A pumpkin seed, also known in North America as a pepita (from the Mexican Spanish: pepita de calabaza, "little seed of squash"), is the edible seed of a pumpkin or certain other cultivars of squash.

The seeds are typically flat and asymmetrically oval, have a white outer husk, and are light green in color after the husk is removed. Some cultivars are huskless, and are grown only for their edible seed. The seeds are nutrient- and calorie-rich, with an especially high content of fat (particularly linoleic acid and oleic acid), protein, dietary fiber, and numerous micronutrients.

Pumpkin seed can refer either to the hulled kernel or unhulled whole seed, and most commonly refers to the roasted end product used as a snack.

#macromondays #condiments

I decided to take a shot of this multicoloured peppercorns to participate on the upcoming them called condiments. So what you see are multiple different peppercorns such as black, white, green and red pepper.

A condiment is a preparation that is added to food, typically after cooking, to impart a specific flavor, to enhance the flavor,[1] or to complement the dish. A table condiment or table sauce is more specifically a condiment that is served separately from the food and is added to taste by the diner.

The exact definition of a condiment varies. Some definitions encompass spices and herbs, including salt and pepper, using the term interchangeably with seasoning. Others restrict the definition to include only "prepared food compound[s], containing one or more spices", which are added to food after the cooking process, such as mustard, ketchup or mint sauce.

My happy place, up close and personal!

Happy new week all!!

Looking close on Friday- our two hydrangea bushes have really put out some color this week. Several hot hot days, then wet wet days

For Macro Mondays theme 'Fill the Frame'.

My Himalayan blue poppy just blooming now. I protect this plant 'fiercely', with an ericaceous top dressing and keeping it staked in my exposed garden and was rewarded with three blooms this year. My lovely 11-year old spaniel died two weeks ago, and I'm as blue as this poppy...

Day 78/365:

Smile on Saturday - White flowers

These roses are just past their best so I filled the frame to miss out the worst parts. HSoS

Thema der Woche bei Macro Mondays ist: Fill the Frame /Füllen Sie den Rahmen

23/30: April 2021: A month in 30 pictures

A busy day today. I baked some salted caramel cupcakes, among other things. Dropped one when I went to take a photo...yes, of course it landed face down :(

I took a few photos of them and then deleted them by mistake. So here's a rose.
