Kennebunk, ME Backlight in field of Blazing Nothern Star

Stumbled upon in London today whilst shopping... In the Heals store an exquisite spiral staircase was built at the back of the building, taking customers up to the new Mansard Gallery on the fourth floor. Known as The Brewer Staircase, this beautiful structure is still a big draw for visitors, and the subject of blog-posts from architecture enthusiasts who rave about its graceful sweep and honey-coloured wood. This is a beaded wooden handle from a spoon. Due to the very small depth of field, I have received the bokeh circles on the beads.

Captured on campus in late afternoon light, with iPhone and Olloclip Macro lens edited on the iPad in Snapseed.

Hey did you all hear that Google has let loose the old Nik desktop suite of editing tools?

Just like they did with Snapseed.

You can all grab yourself a copy of Vivzea, Color Efex, HDR Efex and the rest.

I love Raspberries!

Sad that Fall doesn't last long. In just two weeks these leaves turned to orange, red and brown and then very gracefully fell from the trees, scattering on the ground. Winter will soon follow and will stick around forever!

The beautiful cosmos always bring a smile to the face and offer a great start for the day!

Wikipedia tells us that the color can be quite variable:

"Cosmos is native to scrub and meadowland in Mexico where most of the species occur, as well as the United States, as far north as the Olympic Peninsula in Washington, Central America, and to South America as far south as Paraguay. One species, C. bipinnatus, is naturalized across much of the eastern United States and eastern Canada. It is also widespread over the high eastern plains of South Africa, where it was introduced via contaminated horse feed imported from Argentina during the Anglo-Boer War."

This lovely Willow is in my neighbour's yard. It's so unique in that the leaves turn pink.

Week 11/52: "Composition", fill the frame with one colour. Last weekend on higher altitude, away from the rain, squeezing out the last bit of winter. After this I feel ready for a beautiful spring with birdwatching!
