Some morning waffles! Always enjoy the Sunday waffles at our house. I like the photo because of the color and light it has! The neutral table cloth, red strawberries, the blue blueberries, and the tan waffles. The fill card was on the top right side to reflect light back on the back side of the waffles. The window was to my back, without fill card the shadows behind the waffles were a lot darker! I really don't dislike much about the photo, food is always one of my favorites! However if I were to improve this photo I would have like to add a little more color with some bananas maybe! However this is all the fruits we had today, and the store is over 10 min away and probably closed on a Sunday.
This photo features a marketplace with a table filled with various colorful flowers, including roses and daisies. The table is covered with a black cloth, and the flowers are arranged in an appealing manner. A woman is standing next to the table, possibly admiring the beautiful flowers.
In addition to the flowers, there are several teddy bears displayed in the marketplace, adding to the variety of items available for purchase. The marketplace appears to be a lively and vibrant place, attracting customers with its colorful and diverse offerings.
I took this picture because I thought It would be interesting to look how the fill looks good. I like how the color green stands out. Something I would improve maybe take it from a different angle.

Working on using a fill flash for CU. This was an awesome assignment & I learned a lot. Ella was so expressive today. I love when she cooperates.
Sun hasn't been too good. So I had to enhance the lighting a little. Tried other color fills but didn't really fit with the white and black theme, gives it more of a professional look. Used a white glossy board to reflect the light. Went with the black to give it more visual appeal.

A-mode flash for fill light? Changing the "aperture"/rel. flash power output in A-mode. I used no modifiers (bare flash).
The beauty of digital photography is the way you can do some experimenting without tossing away a bunch of film. This time around we were at Longwood Gardens and decided to fool around with some fill flash technique. On a previous trip, I had used a radio trigger to fire the manually controlled flash unit. For some reason the radio triggers wouldn't work so this became our chance to try the optical trigger built into the flash attachment.
Firing the unit optically involves using the flash built into the camera to tell the off camera unit when to fire. I didn't want the on camera flash to light up the image so I set it's power level as low as possible. That way, most of the light hitting the subject would come from the off camera flash unit giving me control of the intensity, distance, and direction of the light.
These panels were put together to record what we did AND as a way of sharing the techniques with fellow photographers.
