Just a simple composition, taken long ago and never posted. But the light makes the difference.

The old Sinclair gas pumps on HWY 81 in Hennessy, Oklahoma.

I don't need you, I want you.

I have no blanks to fill,

I have spaces to share.

I don't expect you to make me happy,

I want to smile at my joy

and make you smile at mine.

I don't love you to death, I'm not yours and you're not mine.

I'm complete even without you,

You are perfect even without me.

I won't die if you leave,

You won't stop being happy if I leave.

You don't take responsibility

Of my personal satisfaction,

I welcome you as a mirror and messenger,

I offer you my eyes to investigate yours.

I do not bind you or let myself be bound by the need to be loved,

from the fear of abandonment.

I am not alone without you,

You are not lost without me.

We are two wonderful precious universes,

complete, perfect,

that meet to create new worlds.

I will not close doors and windows to keep you next to me,

I will not allow you to restrict my flight.

I honor your freedom by choosing mine every day.

Crazy Tuesday theme Light

Just by pure chance I was at the Yayoi Kusama Exhibition at the Tate Modern in London last Thursday; and with my camera! However, you only get to spend 2 minutes in each of the rooms with other people so it's quite difficult to adjust to the conditions in each of the rooms in order to get any descent images. This one was one of the better ones (...and yes that is me ...and no I wasn't trying to focus on me - which is just as well because I’m out of focus 😄).

This is "Infinity Mirrored Room - Filled with the Brilliance of Life". It is one of Kusama's largest installations to date and was made for her 2012 retrospactive at the Tate Modern. In this installation Kusama is trying to replicate her experiences of anxiety and mental health that are profound to her. The installation is dependent on LED lights connected via a circuitry that creates an infinately changing sequence of lights, with mirrors and water producing an infinite, never ending, boudless experience of colour and light. It creates this strange shimmering feeling that induces a vague sense of anxiety, one which Kusama is trying to provoke.

If you get a chance, the exhibition is well worth a visit.

I have read the theme rules and I really hope this fits in with them.

Happy Crazy Tuesday and a very merry Christmas! ✨🎄✨

Macro Mondays: "Fill the Frame"

♬MUSIC LINK♬

I drove by the location of this gas station a week ago for what was probably the thousandth time in my life.

It was gone.

It had been sitting abandoned for at least the last 40 years since I first saw it in the 80s, so I was a bit surprised to see it had finally been removed, and nothing remained but a flat lot of vibrant green grass on the corner intersection of Forgotten Street and Unfortunate Avenue.

I'm glad I took what would be my final photo of it when I did last winter.

This was another one of Lally's great ideas brought to life. She truly has the patience of a saint...Through all our giggles and laughter, she pulls us all together... and as you can see there is a LOT of us and we were missing a few people of the Grove Art Club but we know and they know that they were in our hearts.

I am not sure what these are but they are really small and growing on the side of a yard.

I've been asked for a shot of the Tacoma skyline at dusk or dawn and have been scouting locations, this one didn't work for that, but dang what a sky. :)

I may or may not have been trespassing...

oh, that last one was pretty dark, thought Id lighten up a bit, but it will be building scapes for a while.... :)

Generatieve fill vanmorgen uitgeprobeerd sinds vandaag geen beta product meer. In 1 muisklik de melkweg toevoegen. Helaas nog wel in lage resolutie.

Route 66 Revisited 2022

The original image is an ICM from Phillip Island, with a texture added and some other playful elements. It just evolved. It is one of those ones I'm not sure about but I am putting it up anyway. Been listening to Mr Dylan alot so the quote is there.

Spanish Boots of Spanish Leather is a really beautiful song. Thought to be written about one of his very early loves, Suzie Rotolo who was travelling in Europe at the time while he was left behind.

Goolinee Cattle Pool is today part of the Mt Augustus National Park but in the past, this permanent pool or billabong on the normally dry Lyons River was used for watering cattle being driven through the area to markets.

Gascoyne Murchison Outback Pathway Exploration July-August 2020 - #GMOPE 73.

Framed by an imposing relic of the bygone era of steam locomotion, Union Pacific's hot ZG2OA 16 has the speedometer needle pegged near track speed, shooting through the base of the coaling tower at Dekalb, IL, without paying much of a thought to its dominating presence overhead. The coaling tower at DeKalb on the former CNW Geneva Subdivision serves little purpose other than being a nusance these days, save maybe for standing as a memorial to the efforts and infrastructure needed to keep trains rolling in the first half of the previous century. The five modern yellow boxes at the head end of the Z have little use for the tower's services, electing to sip diesel instead of coal on their cross-country trip to Oakland.
