16th February 2017:
Went down to the lower car park this morning and on my way down I could hear loads of birds singing, but most of the time I couldn't see them.
Then there they were, loads in a bush in a garden.
Couldn't give them a miss even though I've taken a House Sparrow before for One a Day.
I'm not sorry though, it's not often I get a bird shot.

4th February 2017:
A lovely sunny morning and I needed some air, let alone a photo for today, so as soon as I could I was out. So glad I went the way I did too.
I was going to use the Red Admiral for today's photo, but after I'd uploaded the photos I decided to work on the barbed wire instead.
Something totally different from what I usually take and I liked how it came out after I'd done some processing.

I found this lovely hairy moss on a garden wall in the car park. Now what I've got to remember is to go and try to take it after dark.

21st February 2017:
Wet again so as Izzy was sitting on the coffee table I grabbed my camera and took some photos.
This was the one I liked best.

I have taken loads of things this week for today's theme and have had a dreadful time choosing which one to use. In the end I decided on this one as it's got far more contrasts to it than most of the other things I took.

February 21, 2017, at Reserva Ecologica Rio Blanco in Manizales, Caldas, Colombia. The Bicolored Antpitta (Grallaria rufocinerea), threatened by habitat loss, is another secretive, shy and wary bird of the Grallariidae family (Antpittas). Its habitat is dense undisturbed moist Andes forest usually at altitudes between 2200 and 3150 meters. It is near endemic to Colombia and was only recently discovered in the extreme northeast of Ecuador near the Colombian border.

Having been out into the garden to take my Macro Mondays photo I had a look round for something for today's photo. The weather didn't look hopeful and it's very chilly out there!
As I came in I noticed the cabinet which is half in the kitchen and decided on the motif on the door.
Maybe not very exciting, but we both love the design.

A Hydrangea petal skeleton. This one was far too tempting to leave alone. I could see it through a garden fence so had to use zoom rather than taking a macro, but I reduced the scene size by two.
The garage door made the background almost black so I changed it completely.

18th February 2017:
Out for a walk this morning to make the most of the delightful weather we're having. The forecast is horrible for next week.
Went along the coast road today to have a look at my favourite view. Took this photo and really liked it and it was my first choice for today's photo until I went past the old hairdresser's.
Having uploaded it, I think I prefer it to the other anyway.

February 16, 2017 at Cali, Colombia. Manakins are a family (Pipridae) of forest dwelling birds that are found in the warm humid regions Central and South America in a range that extends from Mexico to Argentina. There are about 60 species of Manakins nearly half of which are found in Colombia. The Golden-collared Manakin with its golden beard is an especially beautiful and tiny bird about 10 cm (4 inches) in length. The Golden-collared Manakin is found exclusively in Colombia and Panama.
I liked the contrasting shapes, colors and textures of this locomotive engine detail .

. . . Not a real weather geek, but there must be a cool name for these rows of clouds over Lake Michigan near the Arcadia Overlook! So unusual to not have hardly any ice on the big lake this winter!
Have a great week Facebook, Flickr, and 500px friends!
