Proper Canadians now, we’ve been skating on a frozen lake! After our morning out, our friends invited us round for a skate on the lake behind their house. I don’t have skates so I wandered about on the ice in my snow boots but the others had a blast skating and playing with the neighbourhood children and dogs. There is something really, really disconcerting about stepping off the dock and onto the ice - it took quite a bit of courage for me to put that first foot down! I was assured the ice was 25cm thick, but even so there were moments when the absurdity of standing where we swam 6 months ago was a bit much.
The best day we’ve had in a really long time - after a crappy, stressful and tear-filled week, it was just what we all needed. Here’s to better days x
Pine Warber - Sunday was a beautiful day and the birds were hanging out at the suet feeder. This pine warbler landed on a nearby branch and let me photograph him from my front porch.

I'm not sure if I've forgotten the climbing stage or if C didn't do it, but this is how I found Bea today. Standing (in tighted feet) on the very edge of a chair to reach something off the top of the play kitchen. See also: licking chargers.
My favourite perfume. This bottle was a Christmas pressie from Mr G, kindly collected by a VERY special friend of ours ;)
We had to use a crowbar to open our front door, but we got back into our house today and somehow need to find the energy to start the drying process again.

Today, while reading outloud Martin Luther's speech "I have a dream", my classmate confused the word "gentiles" with "GENITALS". It was so freakin funny.
A few days ago, I snapped these pictures to capture these brilliant blooms.
Taken with a Pentax K10D camera with the smc P-A 135mm F2.8 lens with a 13mm Extension Tube to reduce the minimum focal distance.
My boss Sandy asked me to print some of my photos to hang around the office. Today, we went to Michael's and bought frames. The four are leaning against my desk are going to hang in my office. I've never decorated with me before. :)
The glare is awful and the carpet is industrial fugly, but this signifies my day. Your tax dollars hard at work.
