I had to perform my belly-on-the-ground army elbow crawl for this one. I like that I amuse people driving by. But I also wish they weren't there and long to be someplace where they're not.

Considered the last month of winter, hope so =)
My digital image of the month, after a night of fresh snow, it was time to head to this wonderful field with oaks.
I converted the image to b/w in camera raw, which are totally new for me =) If you want b/w, you shoot film (I know).

I decided to get some shots this morning of the full moon. I used my 70-300 to take this shot.
Both these shots were taken between 6 and 6:30 this morning.

I got this book in the mail today. I had my eye on it for a long time because the illustrations by Dorothy P. Lathrop were so lovely, the Sara Teasdale's simple and natural verses are just as charming. Since Ms. Teasdale copyrighted in 1930, I'll only post a few examples through the year.
“I stood beside a hill
Smooth with new-laid snow,
A single star looked out
From the cold evening glow.
There was no other creature
That saw what I could see --
I stood and watched the evening star
As long as it watched me.”
“Stars To-night, verses new and old for boys and girls” by Sara Teasdale who copyrighted in 1930. Illustrated by Dorothy P. Lathrop. Published by The MacMillan Co of New York, 1946 edition. "For permission to set any of the poems to music, application should be made to the author." About 25 poems of various lengths, most accompanied by marvelous black and white illustrations on good quality paper. About 8 of the illustrations are full page with nothing on the back of the page.
From a walk around Stirling. Surprised at seeing this daffodil so close to full bloom given the cold weather we had recently.

Out on a walk today I found a small patch of snow that hadn't yet melted...yay!! Hunting around quickly for something to use I found this tiny snail shell hidden under some leaves. And then got very wet and muddy lying down to photograph it!
