Vlacq Crater – diameter is 89 km and it is located in the southeast region of the moon, named after Adriaan Vlocq a Dutch book publisher and author of mathematical tables (1600-1667). The rim is eroded, the interior largely flat but does have a central mountain.
Tech Specs: ZWO ASI290MC camera and Meade 12” LX90 telescope mounted on a Celestron CGEM-DX mount. Software used included Sharpcap v2.9 and AutoStakkert! Alpha Version 2.3.0.21. Photographed on February 2, 2017 from Weatherly, Pennsylvania.

Volodymyr Mykolayovych Chelomey (1914-1984). A student of the Kyiv Polytechnic in 1932-1933, he defended his candidate's degree at KPI. Outstanding scientist in the field of mechanics and control processes, designer of rocket and space technology, academician (1962), full member of the International Academy of Astronautics (1974), laureate of Lenin (1959) and State (1967, 1974, 1982) prizes, twice Hero of Socialist Labor ( 1959, 1963), awarded with four Orders of Lenin, a gold medal named after M.E. Zhukovsky "For the best work on the theory of aviation" (1964), the gold medal named after O.M. Lyapunov Academy of Sciences of the USSR "For outstanding works in the field of mathematics and mechanics" (1977).

I planted a bulb, possibly Japanese iris, crocus, or hyacinth in a flowerpot of rooted coleus for spring replanting. A bunch of flowerpots with different rooted cuttings are on my kitchen windowsill.
I figured out how to measure this unknown bulb’s growth rate using a popsicle stick to mark yesterday’s sprout height.
The growth rate I measured using a finely divided yellow metal tape is 7/16 inches or 1.11 centimeters per 24 hours.

This is a photograph from the 4th annual running of the Donadea 50K Ultramarathon which was held in Donadea Forest, Staplestown, Co. Kildare, Ireland at 10:00 on February 15th 2014. The race was also an International Association of Ultrarunners Bronze Label Event and the Athletics Association of Ireland (AAI) National 50KM Championships. Over 160 participants took part in the event.

The event took place on a 5KM loop of Donadea Forest Park (read more below). The recent stormy and very wet conditions in Ireland made way for perfect running weather for the race. There was a slight breeze here and there on the route but for the most part the route was very sheltered. With so much running traffic on the course certain parts of the course became more muddy as time went on. However, this bother the participants who were expecting conditions to be much more difficult.
Congratulations to Anthony Lee of Donadea Running Club and Donadea Running Club for putting countless hours of voluntary effort into the staging of this event. The event has all the hallmarks of a professional event. There was a superb atmosphere around the loop as locals and other runners supported the runners.
Donadea Forest Park is situated in rural north Kildare and is approximately 640 acres in size. The amenities at the forest include good walking trails, a diversity of natural habitats, a walled stream, a large natural lake, and the ruins of Donadea castle. The Park is a designated National Heritage Area. The basic designation for wildlife is the Natural Heritage Area (NHA). This is an area considered important for the habitats present or which holds species of plants and animals whose habitat needs protection. It is a special event to allow the 50KM to be held in this environment.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. Can I use these photographs directly from Flickr on my social media account(s)?
Yes - of course you can! Flickr provides several ways to share this and other photographs in this Flickr set. You can share to: email, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Tumblr, LiveJournal, and Wordpress and Blogger blog sites. Your mobile, tablet, or desktop device will also offer you several different options for sharing this photo page on your social media outlets.
We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. Our only "cost" is our request that if you are using these images: (1) on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter,LinkedIn, Google+, etc or (2) other websites, blogs, web multimedia, commercial/promotional material that you must provide a link back to our Flickr page to attribute us.
This also extends the use of these images for Facebook profile pictures. In these cases please make a separate wall or blog post with a link to our Flickr page. If you do not know how this should be done for Facebook or other social media please email us and we will be happy to help suggest how to link to us.
How can I get full resolution, print-quality, copies of these photographs?
If you just need these photographs for online usage then they can be used directly once you respect their Creative Commons license and provide a link back to our Flickr set if you use them. For offline usage and printing all of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution.
Please email petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com with the links to the photographs you would like to obtain a full resolution copy of. We also ask race organisers, media, etc to ask for permission before use of our images for flyers, posters, etc. We reserve the right to refuse a request.
In summary please remember when requesting photographs from us - If you are using the photographs online all we ask is for you to provide a link back to our Flickr set or Flickr pages. You will find the link above clearly outlined in the description text which accompanies this photograph. Taking these photographs and preparing them for online posting does take a significant effort and time. We are not posting photographs to Flickr for commercial reasons. If you really like what we do please spread the link around your social media, send us an email, leave a comment beside the photographs, send us a Flickr email, etc. If you are using the photographs in newspapers or magazines we ask that you mention where the original photograph came from.
I would like to contribute something for your photograph(s)?
Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers or in other circumstances we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.
I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

No, I really can't decide which I like more.
I have a human body. I am a human body. Technically. At a scientific glance, I am muscle, blood, tissue, cartilage, and water. All comprised of essential elements.
So where do we find these things that fill us up? Make us human. If a human is emotionless, heartless, and loveless, then it is still a human, with its unique homosapien nervous system and phlanges. If I lose my hands, I am still me. If I lose my feet, I am still me. If I lose my brain, or my eyes, or my tongue or nose or arms, I am still me.
Astonishing though. That one can feel so much,hear so much, want so much, and be so mundane.
One thing I liked from today was the color of the sky. It was, if I daresay, a creamy gray.
On February 26, 2022, the Polar Bear Plunge at Seaside Heights returned to the beach in a big way! Nearly 6,000 plungers raised over $2 Million dollars for Special Olympics New Jersey this year!

Beginning of February is somewhat snowy, not after a snowstorm predicted by weather forecaster on TV yesterday evening.

The Black Swan breeds from about February and in good years they carry on until September depending on the weather, they build their nests by the side of the water and it looks very scruffy. The swan is known for its fierce temperament and they have incredibly strong wings. Swans eat underwater vegetation such as seaweed and aquatic plants when they are on the water and a mixture of plants, seeds and berries when they are on land. Swans also eat insects both water and land based and the occasional small fish. Swans have many adaptations in order to successfully survive life on the water such as their streamline body shape, long neck and webbed feet. The wings of the swan are also very strong meaning that the swan is one of the few heavy birds that is able to fly, even if its only for a short distance. The black swan is a little larger in size than the white swan and the colour of their bill is bright red and has a blunt tip but the female has a slightly longer and straighter bill than the male.

Центр знаходитиметься за адресою Андріївський узвіз, буд. 5/31. Він розташується у будівлі, що знаходиться у власності Київського науково-методичного центру з охорони, реставрації та використання пам’яток історії, культури і заповідних територій. У центрі можна буде отримати інформацію про визначні пам’ятки старого Києва та Подолу.
