It snowed for hours yesterday, but I don't think it will be around for too much longer. It seems to be melting already.
Looks much better on black - click on the image itself, or press 'L' on your keyboard.
kidding, kinda .. I love every time of year and I only get bummed out by the weather when it's too hot. my wife thinks I'm nuts but I love dim, grey weather just the same as clear blue skies. and there's just something beautifully lonesome about a late Thursday afternoon in February when it's turned colder again, the sky starts to sleet and the ground ices over.
Realizing I'm a year and a half behind on posting pics, I'm going to try posting by month, and play a bit of catch up. Presenting February of '17 .

A very noisy Hairy Woodpecker (female) I spotted yesterday.
"Hairy Woodpeckers are contrastingly black and white. The black wings are checkered with white; the head has two white stripes (and, in males, a flash of red toward the back of the head). A large white patch runs down the center of the black back."

More photos from an uneventful February.
This French Connection bandage dress has really stood the test of time. I used to wear it regularly even when I first started going out, and I still love how it looks now.
Your glory shines all around us
Your faithfulness shown for all to see.
When we think of all of Your wonders.
The beauty of Your plan that's been revealed
We walk in Your light
Shine, bright
Let Your glory fill this land
Lift high, the King of Kings and great I am
Jesus, you are the way
You are the way - by Jeremy Camp
So purple bear here has a tag on his buttocks that says February. A quick google search tells me that the Birthstone for February is Amethyst. This tells me I need to one day give my amythyst ring to our Granddaughter who celebrates a Birthday in February. She just turned 13, highlight of the month.

This brief time lapse was started around 5:30pm and shows a rare thunderstorm moving through Cheyenne, WY. It dropped only two bolts (not recorded) but this occurrence in February is only 2% in the long term climate record. I received 0.08 inch of rainfall with this event.

These are the last ones from February, which was an unusually quiet month for me with hardly any pictures.
Of course, that is likely to become the new normal now we're locked down.
Just me and Bagpuss. :-)

The Eurasian blue tit (Cyanistes caeruleus)[ is a small passerine bird in the tit family, Paridae. It is easily recognisable by its blue and yellow plumage and small size.
Eurasian blue tits, usually resident and non-migratory birds, are widespread and a common resident breeder throughout temperate and subarctic Europe and the western Palearctic in deciduous or mixed woodlands with a high proportion of oak. They usually nest in tree holes, although they easily adapt to nest boxes where necessary. Their main rival for nests and in the search for food is the larger and more common great tit.
The Eurasian blue tit prefers insects and spiders for its diet. Outside the breeding season, they also eat seeds and other vegetable-based foods. The birds are famed for their acrobatic skills, as they can cling to the outermost branches and hang upside down when looking for food.
