Umami is not a "thing", it's a type of flavour like sweet, sour, bitter and salty. It's generally translated as "savoury" and is said to be the flavour of things like Marmite, soy sauce, fish sauce, anchovies... perhaps "tangy" would be more descriptive. Whatever, our Coop has now started promoting a range of foods labelled Umami and one of them is a packet of young bean and vegetable sprouts which do have a strong, tangy flavour.
It's Friday! So put your feet up and take a break (f.u.t.a.b.)!!!

Tuesday 26 February 2019 was officially the hottest winter day ever recorded. I spent the day at Eckington on the River Avon in Worcestershire. I needed a sun hat and long sleeves! My phone told me it was 19 Centigrade, and it felt like it. As the sun began to dip in the west at 1630hrs, Class 66 loco no. 66185 of DB Cargo headed north over the bridge with 6M41, the Margam (1152 hrs) to Round Oak steels.
I want to wish a sincere Happy Valentines day to all my flickr friends and fellow community members. To those who have loved ones near and dear to share this day with and to those who have lost loved ones. “May you find peace in the memory of their lives, and may God bless you today with hope and Joy. "
I dedicate these photos to my beloved mother and my dear sister in law both who lost their battles with cancer in 2014: I love and miss you both more than words can express. this window ornament was a gift from my mother who loved gardening but loved me most of all.

This two piece is very comfortable to wear and this is a shot from a shoot with jane which was very memorable indeed
There is a photo of me looking rather windswept and interesting but I decided to use this one where I tidied myself up after getting back into the relative warmth and calmness of the car....

A night at home, but with a visit from a lovely friend Colin who I hadn't seen in a few months. Was lovely to catch up.

We had a weekend in Leicester but it was b it of disaster. Both of us were suffering from sleep deprivation and we ended up going home a day early!
However, we did get to see our friends performing improv comedy at the Leicester comedy festival, which was awesome. This is us just ready to go out and see the show.
