Amritsar , 29 February 2014 -

National Secretary and Prabhari Himachal Pradesh Advocate, Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that buoyed over the success of Narendra Modi's Fateh rally organized by SAD-BJP in Punjab now the Gujarat Chief Minister would also address a few more rallies in the state before the elections. Talking with the media persons here today, he said that the formation of third front as mixture of political parties, saying the front was not capable of preventing Narendra Modi from becoming Prime Minister. Grewal also dared the Third Front to declare its Prime Ministerial candidate so voters can make choice between them and BJP. He said that on going by the mood of the nation this front is not capable of preventing Narendra Modi for becoming the Prime Minister of the country. Grewal said that the countrymen have already made up their mind to handover the reign of the country in the strong hands of Modi due to which such fronts would hardly have any impact in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls. He said that the SAD-BJP alliance has already geared up for the forthcoming general polls by announcing the majority of candidates adding that the remaining candidates would be announced soon. Grewal gave a clarion call to people to form NDA-led government at the Centre, saying a decisive Prime Minister like Narendra Modi will restore country's glory as "Golden Sparrow." He said Narendra Modi had already proved his mettle as a visionary leader by making Gujarat a leading state of the country. Grewal also impressed upon the people to rise above their parochial considerations and vote for the BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate to restore the lost glory of the country. He said that every vote for BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate was a vote for the betterment of the country. Grewal accused Congress party of misruling the country and its wrong policies during the last 55 years. He said that due to misrule of Congress spanning over more than 55 years the dreams of our freedom fighters to have a progressive India has not been realised. Grewal alleged that the result of wrong policies of Congress is that today the country is facing a number of social maladies like unemployment, poverty, starvation, illiteracy and inflation which have accentuated the woes of the common man.

Chandigarh , 12 March 2014 -

National BJP leader Advocate, Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal today asked Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi to take back his "baseless" allegation of involvement of RSS in the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi. After a nukkar meeting talking with the media persons here today he said, "Rahul had levelled the allegation against the world's largest socio-cultural organisation saying RSS men were behind the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi. The fact is that the Kapoor Commission, which probed Gandhi's assassination, had stated in its report that the allegations against RSS on the issue were totally baseless". Grewal while taking a dig, he asked Congressmen to study history to know the correct facts. He stated, " after the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, the then government had imposed a ban on RSS but within six months Congress Party admitted that RSS had no role in the Mahatma's killing and all allegations levelled against RSS on the issue are baseless". Grewal said I, urge Congress leaders to request their vice-president to take back the baseless allegations levelled by Rahul Gandhi against the RSS on the issue. It's well known to everybody that addressing a rally in Thane District of Maharashtra on March 6, Rahul had said "RSS people killed Gandhiji and today their people (BJP) talk of him, They also opposed Sardar Patel and Gandhi ji." Grewal told that our party BJP has already moved the Election Commission against Rahul over his remarks. Grewal also asked the Centre to make public the report of the commission that probed the assassination of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1984. He said that " I, wanted to know under what conditions this report was not made public. I demand from the Prime Minister and the Congress leadership to make this report public so that people will come to know the circumstances behind the assassination of Indira Gandhi." He also charged Congress party has lost dignity and control over words. Grewal said that like Rahul Gandhi other leadership of Congress party also control over words. Grewal said that Rahul's mother now Congress president Shmt. Sonia Gandhi remark's of zeher ki kheti (sowing seeds of poison) is symptomatic of state of depression in Congress and because of this Shmt. Sonia Gandhi sometimes terms BJP poisonous and sometimes a thief."

New Delhi , 07 December 2013 -

National Secretary BJP Kisan Morcha Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal reacting on Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for his comment on Kashmir that's talked of 4th war over Kashmir. He said that in this way Pakistan wanted terror and talks to coexist. Grewal said that there was no possibility of Pakistan winning any war against our country, India any time. In a sports club's meeting in Delhi university North Campus, in a press statement here today, he hit out at Pakistan Prime Minister for his comment on Kashmir. But now, Pakistan had described as "incorrect" the media report that Sharif had contended any such thing. A day back Nawaz Sharif had said that Kashmir is a flashpoint that can trigger a fourth war between Pakistan and India anytime. Kashmir is a flashpoint and can trigger a fourth war between the two nuclear powers at anytime, he was quoted as saying by the Dawn daily in his brief address to the budget session of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir ( AJK ) Council in Pak-occupied Kashmir. Therefore, the statement from Nawaz Sharif office said that the Prime Minister of Pakistan never uttered these words and the news item is baseless, incorrect and based on malafide intentions. In the statement from Nawaz Sharif office last night regarding his address to the PoK Council had touched on India-Pakistan relations but did not contain any remarks about the Kashmir issue triggering a war. During his address yesterday, Nawaz Sharif contended that India had indulged in an arms race. "We were drawn into arms race by India," he told the Council. He also expressed his satisfaction that the situation on the Line of Control had improved, on the Kashmir dispute, Nawaz Sharif had "expressed his dismay at the contradictory stance taken by the Government of India."

BJP wing to hold Kisan parliament in Delhi today – Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal

BJP’s Kisan Morcha will hold a two-day farmers’ parliament on Saturday and Sunday in Mavlankar Hall, Rafi Marg New Delhi to discuss the issues faced by the agriculture sector.

Ludhiana: BJP Kisan Morcha National Secretary, Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said the issues related to agriculture, especially the increasing number of farmers’ suicides, would be discussed at the special Kisan parliament.

“The present condition of agriculture and challenges ahead, Government’s wrong policies and declining income of farmers, market fluctuations and insecurity among farmers, fear of natural calamities and poor market management, increasing agriculture input and lack of infrastructural facilities would be discussed at length during the two-day event,” Grewal said.

Various Bills related to agriculture sector tabled in Parliament will also be discussed, he said. These include the Bills on land acquisition, seeds and pesticides.

Accusing the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government of trying to ignore the plight of farmers, Grewal said, “To highlight the plight of farmers, we have now decided to take an initiative and are holding this parliament that will have brainstorming sessions where the bigwigs will discuss issues.”

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj will inaugurate the Kisan parliament on Saturday, Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said. BJP president Nitin Gadkari and agriculture economist MS Swaminathan would speak at the concluding session on Sunday.

Others likely to speak at the event include Arun Jaitley, former Union Agriculture Minister Rajnath Singh, Venkaiah Naidu, Murli Manohar Joshi and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi, among others.

Quoting a letter Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar wrote to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh recently, Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said the letter had stated that the UPA Central Government’s policies are anti-farmer.

PHILLAUR: Bharatiya Janata Party Kisan Morcha has announced to organize” Rail Roko Agitation” in eight states of the country on April 3 to impress upon the UPA government to ensure implementation of the recommendations of the MS Swaminathan Committee and provide Rs 500 bonus per quintal on wheat.

This was announced by Morcha National General Secretary Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal, while talking to newsmen here.

He said the one-day Rail Blockade would be held in eight wheat producing states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Uttakhand. He said that this would be a symbolic protest and would serve as a warning to the Congress led UPA Government to accept the Demands of the farming community.

Grewal announced If the UPA Government failed to accept these demands a “Kisan Sansad” Parliament of Farmers would be convened in New Delhi in May parallel to the proceedings in the Parliament session.

He said that in this Farmer Parliament the leaders of various farmers’ organisations from all over the country would be invited in the Kisan Sansad to discuss their problems and Demands. Grewal said that a blueprint for a larger agitation of farmers would also be prepared in this congregation of Kisan Sansad. Grewal told that during the Rail Roko agitation on April three, Rail Traffic in Punjab would be blocked at Amritsar, Bathinda, Sangrur and Sahnewal.

AMRITSAR: 28 April 2014 -

National BJP leader and Kisan Morcha National Secretary today taking a swipe at Amarinder Singh's royal background. After BJYM meeting, in a press statement here today Grewal said that the politics of the Congress leader reflects his "feudal mindset" as he has been caught "lying with a straight face" on the property tax and Jagdish Tytler issue. Grewal also charged that Capt Amrinder Singh lives in a "world of sycophants". He said that " the politics of Congress party's candidate from Amritsar Lok Sabha Amarinder Singh only reflects his feudal instincts. He still lives in a world of sycophants where he is referred to as 'Maharaja Sahib'. He is discourteous and rude. He believes that discourtesy has given him the image of being 'Dabbang'".Grewal charged that "Amarinder Singh is not the best practitioner of ethical values. What is amazing is his ability to be extremely economical with the truth". Raking up the property tax issue, he said, Amarinder was caught being "untruthful" on the matter. Grewal said that " the tax was levied on the basis of his undertaking dated 7th December, 2006 to the Centre. I produced before the media the file carrying his signatures of approval. He ignored the truth and could bluntly lie that he did not approve it. Grewal charged that " the whole country saw him stand up and defend Jagdish Tytler in the 1984 riots case in an interview to a news channel. He today denies that he ever gave Tytler a clean chit. He, in a monarchical style, shouts down criticism and refuses to take questions." He said "having been caught lying with the straight face on the property tax and the Jagdish Tytler issue, any other candidate would have been put to shame before the people. But this emperor, even when caught without clothes, has the ability to look at you in the eye. This feudalism must be defeated." Talking about the BJP campaign, Grewal said, "There is clarity in the campaign. The acceptability of the leader is extremely high. The groundswell seems to be building up not only in our traditional support areas but also in those regions where our strength is relatively marginal." Grewal claimed "as against this, the Congress campaign is more abstract and confused. The leadership is non-inspirational, anti incumbency is hurting them significantly." He also noted barring the BJP and its allies, some regional parties appear to be doing well within the confines of their region. Grewal said that "most of these regional parties are conventionally anti- Congress. The third front or the federal front has a sporadic presence through certain regional groups but there is no structured alliance." He also said that "most opinion polls are predicting a comfortable BJP and NDA victory. No other alliance, expect the NDA has any rational possibility of forming the government. Narendra Modi has become symbol of hope in our country"

Amritsar, 19 April 2014-

National Secretary BJP Kisan Morcha and Prabhari Himachal Pradesh Advocate, Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that the battle for Amritsar was an electoral battle for a better future for the holy city and that only BJP candidate Arun Jaitely had the capacity to take the city to the next level of development. After a nukkar meeting, in a press statement here today, Grewal said there was no comparison between Arun Jaitely and Capt. Amarinder Singh. He said that on the one side you have a reluctant contestant in Capt. Amarinder Singh, who publically stated that he would not be able to do justice to Amritsar and it's people before he was forced to contest. Grewal said that on the other hand there is Arun Jaitely who will occupy an important ministry in the forthcoming NDA government, and will be able to remove all the bottlenecks coming in the way of development of Amritsar. He said that we also need to increase the number of goods which can be traded with Pakistan and these were issues which only a central minister could resolve. Grewal said that voting for Amarinder was akin to wasting one's vote. as there was no chance of the Congress forming the next government at the centre. About development work done in Amritsar Grewal said the city bus service is running successfully. He said that the flyovers and over bridges built in the city are there for all to see and a metro bus service on international pattern will also be put in place within two years. Grewal said that now we are looking forward to Arun Jaitely for construction of eight to ten more flyovers besides an industrialisation drive in the border area through a special package. Grewal said Capt Amarinder Singh had nothing to offer to the city. He said that Capt. Amarinder Singh has come for the duration of the campaign and will never be seen again. Grewal said that his level of commitment to the city can be measured from the fact that he did not come to the city for nearly ten days after he was given the party ticket. Even now he is behaving like a decadent royal who expects people to know, tow to him and not the other way round. He said that the people are no longer enamoured by such feudal ways and will treat his candidature with the contempt it deserves. Grewal said that Arun Jaitely is here to stay and destined to script a new bright future for Amritsar.

New Delhi ( Central BJP Office ) , 26 May 2014 -

Police and other officials should be given a free hand so that they can discharge their Duty as per the law. All India Secretary BJP Kisan Morcha and Prabhari Himachal Pradesh Advocate, Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal write a letter today to the Punjab Chief Minister Sr. Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister, President SAD Sr. Sukhbir Singh Badal in which he stressed the need for the police and other officials should be given a free hand so that they can discharge their duty as per the law of the land. Talking with the media persons here today at BJP Kisan Morcha, Party Office, New Delhi Grewal said that the clear instructions should be given to the police and other officials that in case of their involvement in any wrong doing, they will be dealt with strictly. Grewal said that the ruling SAD has appointed MLA's and former MLA as "HALKA INCHARGE" who reportedly dictate terms to officials at the District level. Grewal stressed it's a time and need for doing away with the Akali practice of appointing "HALKA INCHARGE" which are Assembly constituency chiefs. He said that there is also a problem was the deteriorating law and order. He said the constituency "HALKA INCHARGE" wields unlimited powers in his respective police stations. Grewal said such practice sends a wrong message among the people and leads to resentment among people of Punjab. Grewal said despite the strong Narendra Modi wave in the country but the results in Punjab were far from satisfactory. He said that a huge anti incumbency against the Punjab State Government now picture resulted in the Aam Aadmi Party securing four seats even though it lost everywhere in Punjab. Grewal said the Drug issue had also hit the state hard. He said the people of Punjab vented their ire over the Government’s inability to check the menace by voting against the SAD-BJP Alliance.

Ludhiana 05 November 2013 -

BJP Kisan Morcha National Secretary and Parbhari Himachal Pardesh Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal while countering the Congress demand for banning opinion polls said that the psephology is still maturing in India and some opinion polls do go wrong but it does not mean they all should be banned. Talking with the media persons in his office here today, Grewal said that a ban on such polls cannot be considered based on who is demanding the ban. Clearly, opinion polls are also a part of "Right to freedom of speech and expression" of Indian Constitution. Restricting them is constitutionally neither permissible nor desirable. Grewal said that the opinion polls are only opinion polls but some of them have acquired credibility and some can easily be ignored. So why ever it may be the reliability or otherwise of these polls, can they be prohibited or banned. He said that many opinion polls conducted recently show as Prime Ministerial BJP candidate Narendra Modi ahead Rahul Gandhi is widely seen as the PM probable for Congress. Opinion polls on the ensuing Assembly elections show BJP as the clear winner in the BJP ruled states Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and the Congress ruled Rajasthan. Grewal stated that the polls can if be legitimately banned in India, the next step would be to ban political commentators from giving assessments favourable to some and adverse to some others. He said that the poll panel is best advised to keep away from this controversy and allow the market place of democracy to accept or reject the findings of opinion polls in India.

Chandigarh , 7 March 2014 -

Days after Narendra Modi suggested that BJP might tilt in favour of FDI in retail, All India Secretary BJP Kisan Morcha Advocate, Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said a rethink on the issue was unlikely. BJP has steadfastly opposed FDI in retail. In a press statement here today Grewal said that as far as FDI in retail is concerned, the BJP has genuine concerns against this and I don't think, it is quite likely, that policy is going to be changed. He, however, did not dismiss the idea completely. As far as present is concerned, I think it is quite unlikely that the BJP will change, he said, noting that no policy was a policy for the next 100 years. Addressing a traders' conference in Delhi on Thursday, Modi had asked the trading community not to run away from global challenges but adapt itself to modern practices like tying up with bigger stores and online trading, without referring to FDI in retail. Grewal admitted that the BJP was consciously trying to woo the Muslim community ahead of elections and said the party will go full length to implement its three underlined convictions of security, equality and economic progress towards them. There is nothing wrong in it. It's a good sign for India. It's a good sign for BJP. It's a good sign for the minority community members. We and everybody has evolved, It's an appeal being made, he said and admitting that the BJP was making an effort to reach out to the community. Grewal said as far as Muslims were concerned, BJP was not a party that would go on the track of vote bank politics and have religion-based reservation for Muslims. On Pakistan, he said talks and terror could not co-exist and BJP's desire to talk would not outweigh the other surrounding circumstances. Grewal said that the attitude of BJP towards Pakistan if they came to power would be the same as it was during the NDA regime under Atal Bihari Vajpayee. This whole passion and desire that you continue to have dialogue at the highest level irrespective of what the response of Pakistan is. If you have Pakistan's attitude which is not responsive, it is not necessary that the heads of government meet, he said. On the recent Navy accident, he attacked defence minister A K Antony for stopping procurements and turning the situation in the forces to a crisis level and promised to reverse it if BJP came to power in the country.
