Freistadt is a town in Upper Austria with a population of 8,270 in the Lower Mühlviertel region. The medieval old town of Freistadt with its town fortifications and defensive towers is almost completely preserved. The Linz Gate was built in the 13th century and rebuilt in the late Gothic style in 1485. The onion dome on the roof ridge dates from the Baroque period.

Lange in meiner Erinnerung bleiben wird der Einsatz von 50 3501 im Rahmen einer Überführung dreier schneeweißer Neubauloks aus Dessau anstatt der sonst üblichen Dieseltraktion am 18.12.2025. Nach dem ersten Bild in Giersleben traf ich kurz vor Blankenburg zusammen mit einigen Hobbykollegen erneut auf die feine Maschine, die vom Meininger Dampflok Verein betreut wird und die Vectron-Lokomotiven A-DPB 1293 909, CZ-ČD 7384 007 und A-DPB 1293 906 im Rahmen ihrer Inbetriebnahme unter die Oberleitung der Rübelandbahn nach Blankenburg Nord brachte.
Bei einer kleinen Rundwanderung um Moustiers kann man den "Besucherströmen" in diesem schönen Dorf für eine gewisse Zeit entfliehen....

I had not stopped in the Rhyolite Ghost Town since my dad and I were there in 2020. On that visit we had great clouds, and I focused on Long Exposures. On this visit...not a cloud in sight. At first I was not very interested, it just happened to be on our way to Beatty. But when we got to the end, I discovered that my favorite little shack had fallen down, or most likely pushed over. And that made me sad. Areas of Rhyolite were falling down, either by the effects of time or the outside influence of people, there was a lot of graffiti, and in general the Ghost town is Fading Fast...so when we were leaving the light was good, I told TJ lets stop and get out to see what we can find. This is just one of my images from our short time there. I ran back to the truck to get the CV12mm, because it is the sunstar master...sadly I don't think this old market building is going to be standing for long...a good wind, or a push from a knucklehead and it will be a pile of old lumber. I will never understand why people feel the need to graffiti things, or tear up old stuff...glad I got an image of this one before it succumbs.
