'Two days after Hamas’ October 7th, 2023, attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued an order to the IDF Chief of Staff for a massive and devastating bombing campaign in Gaza. “I’m not interested in targets”, he reportedly declared: “Take down houses, bomb with everything you have”.
The order was implemented: within 48-hours, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced he was releasing “all the restraints” on Israeli fire, IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari asserted the Airforce was inflicting “maximum damage” on Gaza, and Israeli Air Force Chief of Staff Omer Tishler boasted of attacking “with thousands of munitions”, “in a large mass, and not surgically”.
For the next two years, the Israeli Airforce launched tens of thousands of airstrikes that overwhelmingly killed Palestinian civilians. For example, an investigation into Israel’s first month of bombing in October 2023 found that of over 600 Israeli strikes which killed more than 5100 Palestinians, just four percent were directed at a military target.
This bombing campaign was responsible for the vast majority of the over 71,000 violent Palestinian deaths in Gaza since October 7th, killing women and children at a faster rate than any other conflict in the 21st century.'

Hard to believe it's already 2022, the years seem to be going so fast, and the ones we've been through recede to memory so quickly.
You know, you're out with your camera and you wonder - 'Just how fast are a butterfly's wings?' [No? Just me then] Well, this one was taken at 1/3200 of a second so it turns out the answer is 'pretty fast'.

Belichtungsmesser repariert, Dichtungen erneuert. Wieder fast wie neu. Und in der Kiste mit altem Fotogerät hab ich sogar noch ein ukrainisches Shift-Objektiv mit Pentax-K-Bajonett gefunden. Demnächst also auch analoge Fotos.

Uploaded for 117 Pictures in 2017 #26 Selective colour. I'm aware the date taken isn't showing for this image but I did definitely take it in January 2017, my sister came over from England to visit for my 50th birthday on 16th January & we went wandering around Waterford city. I was hoping the Flickr photo editor which replaced Aviary would keep the selective colour feature but sadly it didn't. I don't have software that does selective colour nor is it available on my camera. If I can work out another way to do a selective colour image which shows the actual date I will & replace this one before the end of the year.

House Finches feed their nestlings exclusively plant foods, a fairly rare occurrence in the bird world. Many birds that are vegetarians as adults still find animal foods to keep their fast-growing young supplied with protein.

I photographed these litter of fox cubs back in May when they were cute bundles of fur and fun... now some 8 weeks later they could almost be mistaken as adults... they do grow up fast.... IM sure it won't be long before they are off on their own adventures and mischief.... but maybe I'll try for one more visit before that happens....
