Auf leisen Sohlen kam die Ost-V100 der Strabag herangeprescht, erst im letzten Moment habe ich sie bemerkt.
Zum Glück stand die Drohne noch vom vorigen Zug in Position, so das dieses Bild gelang.
Die Lok war auf dem Weg nach Emden, wo sie im Bauzugdienst eingesetzt wurde.

Mein erster Besuch heuer im Altmühltal war leider mit sehr wenig Erfolg gekrönt. Als ich unterwegs zum Standpunkt war, kamen gleich drei Güterzüge hintereinander. Dann war aber für fast anderthalb Stunden Schluss. Erst danach kam 159.214 von EccoRail mit einem Kesselwagen-Ganzzug ums Eck. Im Gegensatz zu meinem zweiten Besuch war jedoch die Natur noch grün😉
In the course of our first visit to the Altmühl-valley, unfortunatelly, we did not mange to capture too much interesting locos. As we were on the way to the spot, not less than three trains came after one other, but then, a pause of one and a half hour followed. The only real highlight that we could capture is Ecco’s 159.214. In contrast to our second visit, however, the nature was still green 😉

Fun and games at Green Lane, The Wirral as a Merseyrail class 508 EMU enters the station from the underground section.
I was drawn to the repetitive arrowhead of the footbridge and approaching EMU. A change of pace, and probably limited appeal, but I figured it was worth waiting for a couple of trains to get what I was after.

This row of Maples at the front entrance have peaked and are falling fast. Managed to catch this one today against a perfect blue sky before it's too late. HTMT!
Fast wie ein Wimmelbild aus einem Bilderbuch wirkt das Ambiente des Bahnhofs Haldensleben. Beim genauen Betrachten finden sich zahlreiche Elemente der alten Eisenbahn, wie man sie nur noch selten vorfindet. Umso schöner war die Wartezeit auf das Fotoobjekt in Form von 232 489, welche am 30.04.2026 einen Ganzzug aus dem Hafen Haldensleben in zwei Teilen im Bahnhof Haldensleben zusammen stellte. Neben einem dichten Takt im Regionalverkehr sorgten weitere Zugfahrten am Morgen für mächtig Betrieb rund um Haldensleben. Der wartende Fotograf hatte somit die Gelegenheit, das Klappern der Weichen, das Schrammen der Drahtzüge und das Klingeln des Bahnübergangs zu genießen. In der warmen Frühlingssonne konnte man das Beobachten des Bahnbetriebs auf alter Infrastruktur daher in vollen Zügen genießen. Und wer kennt es nicht, diesen Geruch von alten Bahnanlagen bei Sonneneinstrahlung?! Eisenbahnromantik Anno 2026, wie sie nur noch selten vorzufinden ist!
Eine 218 zieht einen aus UIC Wagen gebildeten InterCity über die Vogelfluglinie. Dies war im Jahre 2018 immer noch genauso üblich wie 1988. Auch der Bahnhof Beschendorf hatte sich in den 30 Jahren kaum verändert. Nur die Zugläufe sind etwas weniger spektakulär geworden. Im Vergleich zum D 236 Kobenhagen-Hoek van Holland ging es beim IC 2415 nur von Fehmarn/Burg nach Hamburg Hbf. Am 13.05.2018 war 218 321 für die Fehmarn-IC`s eingeplant hier rollt sie pünktlich durch den Bahnhof gen Süden
This was another one of those days where the weather just wouldn't play ball. Great, fast moving clouds that I knew would create a really atmospheric, long exposure image. But my progress was hampered by squally rain showers that regularly peppered me just as I was set up and ready to shoot. Fortunately, there was a break in the showers that was long enough for me to get a couple of compositions in the bag. Having to work quickly is not something I like to do but nonetheless, I am pleased with the images I got of Cullen Bay in Morayshire, Scotland.
Lange in meiner Erinnerung bleiben wird der Einsatz von 50 3501 im Rahmen einer Überführung dreier schneeweißer Neubauloks aus Dessau anstatt der sonst üblichen Dieseltraktion am 18.12.2025. Nach dem ersten Bild in Giersleben traf ich kurz vor Blankenburg zusammen mit einigen Hobbykollegen erneut auf die feine Maschine, die vom Meininger Dampflok Verein betreut wird und die Vectron-Lokomotiven A-DPB 1293 909, CZ-ČD 7384 007 und A-DPB 1293 906 im Rahmen ihrer Inbetriebnahme unter die Oberleitung der Rübelandbahn nach Blankenburg Nord brachte.

This picture looks harder than it is because the word was soo long. I had to do it a couple times. By the 6th time, I was able to write the words faster and nicer.

DSB MZ 1413 with P310 København - Göteborg is passing Klampenborg on the fast track.
In 1986, DSB had just started to run electric trains under 25kV 50Hz and all international rail passenger traffic across the Sound was going this way via Helsingør (as the fixed link did not open until 2000). While I am not happy with the shadow hitting the loco's front, it is a photo depicting the international passenger trains at the time with swedish carriages from the sixties. Swedish and norwegian carriages to be used to Denmark had to be fitted for danish electric train heating.
