There were a lot of Fallow Deer at Boldre in the New Forest! The Forest Rangers feed them here so a lot of people can see them!
Busy taking pictures of trees and suddenly realised I was being watched. Camera set up all wrong but managed a habitat snap-shot.
On the moor above Elsdon in the Northumberland National Park. Fallow Deer are not native to the area and are instead part of a managed herd.
Another trip to Bushy Park to hopefully experience the Deer Rut.

The Fallow Deer is an elegant, medium-sized deer, with a typically spotted coat. Males have broad, palmate antlers. During the autumnal breeding season, known as the 'rut', males make a loud belly belch to proclaim their territory and fight over the females.

Introduced to the UK by the Romans for hunting / food.
The only UK species with Palmate (flattened) antlers - which they have in common with Moose. It will take this little guy a while to grown them though!
This deer was standing beside the road and I got this shot before he turned around and walked into the forest. A little noisy because of the low light.
The medieval deer park,at Studley Royal Park where the church stands, is home to between 300 – 350 deer and a wealth of flora and fauna. At Studley there are three types of deer; Red Deer, Fallow Deer and Sika Deer.
A couple of Fallow Deer images from a brief spell of decent weather recently. We've been plagued by heavy rain recently. While I like rain in photos, it's been so dark and gloomy the photos haven't been their best.
