Autumn is one of the most tender and touching seasons. Where there is fading, there is always beauty — especially when you realize that fading doesn’t mean death, it’s just sleep. Nature’s sleep, after which everything returns again, bringing new colours and peaking with new sounds the awakening of the world.
For now, I can endlessly admire the countless shades of autumn leaves, listen to their crunch underfoot, and breathe in the unique scent of earth, dampness, and fallen leaves. This is the time of year when you want to photograph everything around you and simply observe — with a cup of pumpkin latte in your glove-covered hands.

Vogel State Park is located 11 miles (18 km) south of Blairsville on US Highway 19 in the north Georgia mountains. The lake is named for Trahlyta, a Cherokee maiden who is buried a few miles from the park at Stonepile Gap.

The tallest waterfall in Ohio, in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Brandywine Falls, here in Autumn a day after a rain.
For nearly 40 years, the folks at the Utah Department of Natural Resources have gathered the bison herd on Antelope Island to check their health and manage the population. This annual roundup draws people from all over the world, young and old, locals and travelers. This year, I chatted with a couple from Canada and a gentleman who had come all the way from Argentina.
The rider pictured here was an Utah native who’s been part of the roundup for years. At 80-plus years old, he told me he might only have a few more rides left with his trusty horse who’s now over 20 years old itself. But from what I saw, he looked tough as nails and ready for another day in the saddle.
Before the roundup began, I asked if he’d take a few warm-up laps around the open field. He grinned and asked, “Walk or run?”
“Run, of course,” I said.
And run they did.
From his hat, I’d guess he once rode with the U.S. Cavalry, the kind of man who’s spent a lifetime charging into life full stride, horse and all.
I think the round-up brings back a sense of history. A way to remember and maybe even romanticize today’s cowboys and cowgirls.
A quiet moment in the golden woods.
Sometimes a back tells more than a face – about calmness, lightness, and the gentle feeling of being completely present.
Beata walked just a few steps… and that was where the magic happened.
The things you will find in a field in October. Very delicate.

September had already turned the garden toward autumn, but one rose stayed in full bloom.
Adele stepped into that quiet moment like it had been waiting for her. Scarlet against the fading season, soft light, and a gaze that holds.

Just a couple of weeks ago the scenery in Central Wisconsin was glorious. Today, the trees stand bare, November has arrived.
This was our view for a day (we have this new crazy adventure of ours to go camping with a rooftop tent), but Mr. Wongzu was not impressed at all ;P.
On a side note, he did great in a new environment and new habits. This builds his confidence and it shows (although he looks a bit awkward here because the dock was moving a little. Yet, he did not freak out).

A small little post showing off a upgraded tractor inspired by the one in Battlefield V and by the tractor design for a fall post by the amazing @historybricks!
-
I do plan to post a second part of this post later this week as I felt the tractor on its own is enough!
