Polaroid Week - Day 3, Photo 1
Had some challenges adding to the Roid Week group yesterday, so posting this today instead!
In the John A. Sibley Horticultural Center at Calloway Gardens, in west Georgia, there was a man-made waterfall with a path behind it. (The Sibley Center is now closed.) I made this photo looking out from behind the falls at the colors of foliage and flowers, beyond. I did not record details, but I used a Canon A2E with a Canon zoom lens of some sort. The film was Kodak Velvia, and the shutter speed was about 1/15", hand held
and just in time, just before the neighbor's dog tried to lick me, destroying the pile of leaves. :-)

Like some of the other weeks I assumed that the theme was to be taken as the US meaning of the word- in this case 'Fall', the closest equivalent in the UK probably being 'Autumn'*. So, sticking to my roots I decided to go for one of the myriad other uses.
Image info: Taken on a Nikon D700 with a Sigma 24-70 2.8. I led on a table and later flipped the image so that the clothing would hopefully look a little like it was being dragged upward from the air resistance. I used one flash on the background (a white bed sheet) and another flash was snooted and bounced off a gold reflector for the front fill. The cloud background was just quickly shot out the window. I had to get this done start-to-finish in my lunch break so the photoshopping is a little rough around the edges but I think the general idea is there.
* just in case anyone drags me up on it, yes, I realise that 'fall' in the context of autumn originates from (British) English (and possibly German before that) but as it has been about 300 years or so since it was last popular I think I can get away with it.
