Simulated reflection is one of my fav image manipulation techniques. People used to call me "Noah" for the amount of times I did this kind of thing back in the day. Check out my album of images like this one linked on the right.
i feel like i missed the beautiful fall colours this year. rain (and snow) and the colours weren't as bold as i remember them here, and certainly not as nice as i remember them in japan. was this year different than before or is it me? this tree is a block down the road from my place.
This time of year, the deer come into my yard to feast on the apples from my trees, I have enough for everybody that shows up, after a belly full this youngster had to relax and daydream basking in the early fall sunshine!
Most of the trees along the South River were bare when I took this shot last weekend, but a few of the fall's colors were still evident in the distance. I took this shot from the footbridge over the river at Ridgeview Park in Waynesboro, Virginia, and cropped it to bring the colors in closer.
E313 rumbles past the signals at Ashford along the former Clinchfield mainline on a beautiful Fall afternoon.

Have you ever had a picture in your head that, despite your best efforts, you were never able to recreate in your camera? I sure do. Quite a few of them, in fact.
For years, I have tried to capture a single leaf falling from a tree. And for most of those years, I usually captured something I liked, but it wasn't exactly what I wanted.
Yesterday, the opportunity presented itself again. And, thanks to a lot of help from Mother Nature, I managed to capture a number of great images of leaves falling.
This is my favourite. The one I've been trying to get for probably more than a decade.
Persistence pays off.
I was expecting more fall colors than this so I tried to get more creative than usual. I've shot this falls several times before but never at this angle.
Nothing better than the 866 as a southbound leader in the fall. Here BLE 866 and three others make great time as they haul a short ore train through MD South on a beautiful fall day.
For the second time recently a fire has helped me get a shot. Just to the right of this scene I could see a huge cloud of smoke from a controlled burn. Luckily for me the smoke created some great layering and a purple cast for the Wet Mountains near Westcliffe Colorado.
I used a graduated ND filter for this shot, not HDR.
