Clytra sp.

Apparently these are called Fall Beetles due to their habit of letting themselves fall to the ground at the slightest vibration. I found a few of these are true enough the did seem to drop rather easily. I still managed to get a few shots in though.

As much as I hate to say it, I think fall is right around the corner. L512 drifts past a grove of color changing trees on the Beamer Industrial Spur near Fort Saskatchewan Alberta
Low and behold I joined another group.. basically I just needed inspiration. I don't know how many of these musically challenged I will be doing. I just wanted to try something different.
The word "falling" has great meaning to me so I thought that I would start off with this one. I've never heard this song before.
I'm a sucker for sun rays! They make me stop and stare every time. Then add some fall colors, and I'm in heaven!

My wife and I went driving for fall photo opportunities and had the good luck of following a couple of hot air balloons around the mountains. The Appalachian Range was in full Autumn color. We even helped one balloon land and we helped him put his balloon up. There is a couple of more threads to this story in photos later. Suffice to say, the guy we helped asked us if we wanted to go up with him!!!! SURE!!!! we said and that is where we got this shot of another balloon coming over the range. Be helpful and others will help you.

Rebodied Skipper models Barbie fashions in my back yard. It's feeling very fall like, we had snow a few days ago. It has melted, but it was enough for several snowman sightings that day!
I'll be leading photographers to various locations to capture Horsetail Fall and winter shots in Yosemite Valley again in 2020.
If you want to pursue it on your own, this location is described on page 21 of my 320-page guidebook Photographing California Vol. 2 - South.
Note the parking and viewing restrictions in effect for 2020:
Viewing Horsetail Fall in Late February
"Due to the popularity of the event, restrictions will be in effect from February 14 through 27, 2020 daily from noon to 7 pm. To view Horsetail Fall, park at Yosemite Falls parking (just west of Yosemite Valley Lodge) and walk 1.5 miles (each way) to the viewing area near El Capitan Picnic Area."
www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/horsetailfall.htm
Why?
"February 22, 2019, over 2,000 visitors viewing Horsetail Fall... spilled onto riverbanks, increasing erosion and trampling vegetation... undeveloped areas became littered with trash..."

Autumn, also known as fall in North American English, is one of the four temperate seasons. Autumn marks the transition from summer to winter.
The word autumn comes from the ancient Etruscan root autu- and has within it connotations of the passing of the year. It was borrowed by the neighbouring Romans, and became the Latin word autumnus. After the Roman era, the word continued to be used as the Old French word autompne (automne in modern French) or autumpne in Middle English, and was later normalized to the original Latin. In the Medieval period, there are rare examples of its use as early as the 12th century, but by the 16th century, it was in common use.
Remembering back to a fall trip to Seven Hollows hike at Petit Jean in the Ouchita Mountains, Arkansas. What a hike that was! It nearly killed us (#truth) and thankfully Bennet carried some small lunch items while Kristi remembered she had a white Kleenex she could wave as a surrender flag. We found this pretty leaf on the trail reminding us there is beauty in everything.
