Eady Shoe Factory
E.W. Eady began making shoes in Otsego in 1903, his factory occupying a site on Helen Avenue. Business thrived and by 1910, a new three-story factory was added to the plant. This building still exists today on Helen Ave. The factory made and shipped thousands of pairs of shoes every week throughout the Midwest and nearly one-third of Eady’s employees were women. The business survived until effects of the Great Depression forced its closure in 1935.
Near my 7th or 8th time down to this factory. Every time it gets a bit harder to get to the top! Some how I always find a new shot though. I took Margaux and Maggie with me this time they both were virgins. Nice Sunday trip with a visit to tap and mallet afterwards for a few beers and a pig roast!!
Look at the lovely weather! This was in the evening as well. My battery died after this so no band pics. Alice should have some good ones though.
Untitled 4 by Nick Rhodes
Shown at the Vinyl Factory, Walton Street.
Bei Incubi, an exhibition of photographs by Duran Duran’s Nick Rhodes.
The images are all of the same girl, taken on the same day. The shoot was initially planned to create album artwork for TV Mania’s new release ‘Bored of Prozac and the Internet?’ – a project that is based on a fictional, futuristic, dysfunctional family, living out their lives under the microscopic lens of a reality TV show. Within this construct, the daughter, who is a flamboyant, extrovert character, obsessed with becoming famous at any cost, was the ideal subject upon which to base the session. As the day unfolded, Rhodes realized that he had created a broad spectrum of images with his chameleon subject that somehow collided to form the basis of the show.
