The tree to look at my LCD or viewfinder when taking these shots, which necessitated stitching for width and some focus staking too. Ultimately, this is about a Focus to one zone
Afternoon near Lake Serene in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State. The hike to Lake Serene is a little over 8 miles and is one of the most beautiful areas I have been to in a while.
I am fascinated by the infinite variety of faces, shapes and forms in nature. I am still trying to work these out.

When this Lesser Yellowlegs came in closer at Exploration Green I had to give it a stern talking to: "You're a shorebird," I said, "You probe for worms in the soft sand at the water's edge. You don't belong up in the trees. Remember, only you can prevent forest fliers."
