have a great weekend!

The stone forest is a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Quietude, forest fragrance, sunlight, soft ground, warm air and buzzing insects, this is my Swedish summer.

The last light of the night shining through the forest looking over the Cook Inlet of Alaska.

The cow on the left and the calf in the middle are the ones I posted earlier this month. The cow on the right was peacefully grazing nearby and kept getting closer. I thought maybe the mom might get a bit defensive, but all remained calm. Again, this is two cows and one calf...not a cow and two calves. The cow on the right is on lower ground, making her looks smaller.

This was taken during the rut and there was a large bull nearby but he stubbornly remained in tall, dense willows so no shot of him on this day.

Alienation drive

From our trail hide this week.

While driving to some places for my past forest and water images, everytime i missed to stop at a small forest glade, which can partially seen while driving by.

Some weeks ago, i stopped there but it was to late to see anything only equipped

with my headlamp, i lighten the scene to look, is it worth to come back.

This week, i spontaneously come back there again. For my surprise, another area was in front the scene i visited first. So i took a decision to lighten the new found place. The complete area with gras on ground is only about 300m long.

Very rare in our local forests.

Complete scene lighten with a flash lamp ( torch ).

FRIM is the leading forestry research institute of Malaysia, situated in Kepong, just outside Kuala Lumpur. Established in 1929, it boasts 600 staff carrying out research in all aspects of forestry and forest products.

Research in ecology and silviculture is carried out with the objective of developing suitable management and silviculture systems for the forest in Malaysia. Studies conducted are aimed at providing information to enhance the knowledge and understanding the ecology and dynamics of the forests and their responses to logging and other anthropogenic activities.

Research in forest products is focused on more efficient and diversified utilisation of the nations forest resources and in promoting higher operational efficiency in existing production systems by the introduction of innovative technological systems, thereby reducing wood-waste and extending the utilisation of the under-utilised timber species.

Flowerpot Island on Georgian Bay is made of rocks, boulders, and slabs of shale. The trees grow among the rocks. It's an interesting hike where you can find all kinds of moss, lichen, and wildflowers.

Crisp mountain air, still water, and endless evergreens - this is my kind of beach!

We spent a little over 12 hours in the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, and it was a very productive, but restless time. Having shot in the wee hours of the morning through sunrise and dead tired on the drive out, this scene caught my eye. It couldn't be passed up.
