Sunset in the forest from a hill looking out over a new fir plantation.

Im dichten Fichtendickicht

sind richtig dicke Fichten wichtig,

denn durch dicke Fichten wird das Fichtendickicht

in seinem Gleichgewicht ertüchtigt.

Wenn der Wind weht, und zwar richtig,

- und der Wind weht mitunter richtig berüchtigt! -

2021 represents a significant milestone in the history of the Phoenix Railway-Photographic Circle with the celebration of our 50th anniversary by publishing a book to showcase some of the members work, past and present, from 1971 to the present day.

The book contains 14 chapters and 144 pages of photographs depicting the work of over 50 accomplished railway photographers with many differing styles and approaches. It takes an alternative view on photographing the railway scene over the past 50 years.

The book, called 50 Years of Phoenix will be published on 14th May 2021 with pre-orders now being taken – click on this link to order your copy:

The Hollow Forest is a great place for pics. Have fun everyone, but don't forget the Templum! I'll be posting more pics from that pool soon.

There are many items created by people we know and others we don't here. It's fab. SPECIAL special thanks to Amellier Spitteler for allowing us to visit this pretty place.

I shot the photo 3 years ago. Google + reminded me of its existence lately and I liked it.

Better if L is pressed.

Hampshire woodland just after sunrise. There is no great drama in this micro landscape but I like the way the light filtered through the willows as well as the organic debris on the forest floor.

This picture was paid with my blood.... i was walking for about 45mins and got more than 30 mosquito bites :(

In the forests of Callander in The Trossachs area of Scotland lie the remains of old Roman forts from the first century CE. Near Bracklinn I came across the moss covered stones of the old road through the forest leading to an ancient fort.

With most of the leaves down the forest floor was covered in leaves but also a large area just scattered with saplings. Which is mostly all the yellow seen on the ground here.
