The Pony Express was a short-lived but storied American express mail service. Using relays of horse-mounted riders between Missouri and California the service was for 18 months the (wild) west's most direct means of east–west communication being much faster than prevailing stagecoach operations. At initial set-up in the winter of 1860 the undertaking utilised 80 riders and 400 horses, the riders mounts were selected to be below a certain height (in hands) and a certain weight to ensure fleetness of foot and agility and consequently rendering the name 'Pony' Express particularly befitting. Ultimately the service was rendered obsolete with the introduction of the transcontinental telegraph.
I needed some more box cars and these express cars seemed pretty good candidates. This one is a Lakawanna Road.

In La bocca chiusa, Lido Manetti plays a British duke who seduces a poor country girl (Jacobini). Her stepfather (Augusto Poggioli) sells her child to the duke, making her believe the child died. With the money, he embellishes his house, but when the girl finds out, she goes mad, burns down the house and becomes a wanderer. Twenty years after, her son (Manetti again) lovingly takes her into his service, not knowing who she is. She recognizes a picture, though, and not wanting to destroy his happiness, she silently goes away.
Among the Italian divas, Maria Jacobini (1892 - 1944) was an island of serenity, as film historian Vittorio Martinelli expressed it. She was the personification of goodness, of simple love. Her weapon was her sweet and gracious smile. However, in some Italian, and later also in German films, she could as well play the vivacious lady, the femme fatale, the comedienne, the hysterical victim, or the suffering mother or wife.
